I like the black detail on the wing ends...same with the seat stripe. I predict Miami blue to be a huge hit if offered.

This is the car the 991.1 should have been.

I still think the RS is the car to have, but I may be wrong when real world tests come out.

It's probably been said 100x by now but: will this make 911R prices drop to a sensible level?

Probably not. Numbered different model. Will they drop naturally anyway? Sure. Nothing to do with the .2

The RS's will stay strong too. Who's going to trade one in for a GT3?

There is a lot of demand for GT cars now. Don't expect any huge drops for anything just because the .2 GT3.

Even if .1 GT3's trade at $15-$20K under MSRP or so, look at what the price delta will be to a .2 GT3, especially with market pricing. Will keep the .1's at a healthy resale.

Nice they delivered on 4.0 and the as expected manual option.

Happy to see folks are thrilled by the announcement. Can't wait for gnashing of teeth as people lock orders. Manual vs PDK is tough call!

Good luck on allocations everyone!

I beg to differ that they'll command their insane markups. The reason it was so popular was likely due to "the end of a manual GT3" idea that was going around. It's a numbered car with parts bin components. The RS has a reason to hold value. I don't think the 911R has anywhere near as much reason.

Doubtful... see the silliness of the 991.1 GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition, which is just a sticker and badge job on an otherwise stock PTS Fashion Grey 991.1 GTS. But only 25 made. 2 of them on Autotrader right now for $220K-$300K even though they were around $150K or less, the higher priced one from a dealer in Vegas. Doesn't even look very good IMO. Anyone could have ordered a 991.1 GTS in PTS Fashion Grey with identical equipment and put same decals on. But it wouldn't be numbered, so would be worth $100K less.

R will stay overpriced just because it's limited and numbered, even if Porsche releases a literally identical car the following year called something else with unlimited production. As long as R is only 991 GT 4.0 manual ever made with wing delete and special underbody aero to compensate, LWFW, and the nice brown leather and houndstooth seats, special dials, etc., then maybe it's at least a bit more justified than limited production number appearance only edition cars like the one above.

I said the R will drop of course naturally with time. Won't tank. You'll NEVER see them selling at MSRP no matter what you think of them. I don't think you'll ever see them less than $100K over MSRP. The GT3 will have nothing to do with it.
