^^^ I'm not saying I condone it or would do it, but just curious if that was "how they did things".

Would I trust anyone who did work that way, no.

Just read this entire thread.

My heart breaks for you, op.

I hope you've involved the police at this point.

This should break that shop. They have no right to be in business.

Come on! Stop pissing your pants. Everyone makes mistakes. Don't flame me but now I would actually trust this shop as I am pretty sure they would never do such a stupid thing in the future. But with other shops it is still all ahead of them. From my understanding that this is common practice in the US.

My problem is with their extreme lack of moral character. Maybe they won't wreck my car, but that lack of character can sure show up in plenty of other places. No thanks.

Just like rapists and child molesters. Sure, they did it once but would you trust one around your wife or kids? Of course they would never do such a stupid thing in the future. Right?

From what I hear, this has been standard operating procedure for a while with Aaron @ Bob Hindson Racing.

Have you even gone through and read all the posts??

I again want to thank all the members for there support both publicly and privately. I can't tell you what a fantastic community this is, how helpful people have been and how great the crew in Kansas City has been. Some amazing work and networking has been done for somebody you all have never met. Truly humbling. More details to come next week. Qbix only point I wish to argue with you is people pissing there pants. I would argue the exact opposite, incredible accuracy and precision and compassion. Your right mistakes happen, gross negligence is intentional or ignorant, neither is acceptable when dealing with other peoples assets.

I'm willing to bet that qbix is in the minority here. By a wide, wide, wide, wide margin.

There is a difference, a vast one, between a mistake, and willful misconduct.

If I was the guy who did this, I would have been on my knees apologizing to you, and then writing you a check for your car. If necessary, I'd be mortgaging my business and house, so I could write you a check for your car. Everybody makes mistakes. But good people own those mistakes and do everything in their power to make things right.

Probably one of the best quotes in this whole thread. Sums it up pretty well.

I get all the points but at the end it is just a stupid car. What matters is that no one was hurt by that reckless take-off or I should say skillless.
At the end insurance will cover the loss and I hope that the owner will be statisfied with the outcome.
And now go and think how many times you have done something not really smart that with a bit of bad luck could have changed into a nightmare.
I do speeding, reckless driving and other stupid things. All in my perception at acceptable risk. But I also know how much little it is required to screw yourself big time. You have never done it? Sure!
So guys don't play such virgins cause it's very easy to judge others.

^^^^ You're missing the point here. Surprise, surprise.

Taking risks with your OWN toys or property is one thing and you have to take responsibility if anything goes south.

Acting like an as*hole with someone else's property takes it to another level. Go troll elsewhere.

A stupid car until it's your own

qbix - its called respect. If you're a true car guy and know how people love and covet their rides you'd appreciate shop owners having respect for others rides.
