I think the only companies that care about Nurburgring records are the VW group companies - Porsche and Lambo. Mclaren and Ferrari just dont care about ring times. Not sure if thats good or bad but it is what it is.

GM cares too, they just can't get a time worth making public.

But in real track event, ring time doesn't matter. Mclaren and ferrari got really good lap time if right driver is driving it. Super car had their reason to be expensive just driving dynamic wise.

mclaren and Ferrari care, but they don’t like that their cars that cost twice as much as Porsche GT car, are still slower on the Ring.

Ferrari doesn’t want their lies to be exposed, and Mclaren can’t explain why their cars are slower than other cars with a worse power to weight ratio.

Slower where, on the Nurbugring? Is that anything like realistic driving, where the Mac (any mac) beats a GT3 at any single speed contest you could imagine?

I don't mind Porsche's GT cars at all, but they really are one trick track ponies that look only slightly sexier than the base cars and are only exemplary in their ubiquity here in SoCal.

Really they care? McLaren cares? Ferrari cares?

Oh wait, I get it. This is one of those Porsche GT cars are the greatest and everything else sucks posts.

Understood. You made your point. Good analysis.

the fact that the senna destroyed the 2rs by what 2.5 seconds means that it’s going to be slower on the longer track of the ring don’t you know.

Over the weekend, I test drove the new Aston Martin Vantage....I did not like it. Then I test drove a new McLaren 600LT....wow!!!!

My Porsche is more engaging and raw. But the easier to drive the McLaren faster with more control.

Keeping my Porsche.

call it 2 seconds faster on basically a 1 minute track. Ring record is roughly 7 minutes which means senna is 14 seconds faster.

if McLaren cared about the ring, they would do it. But as I stated lambo cares. Porsche cares. Ferrari doesn’t care nor does McLaren. Good or bad, it is what it is.

Porsche is a great car. Not a bad decision at all.

Some truth in that but surely the Senna would beat pretty much anything anywhere.

i don't really care too much about Ring times, but it would be interesting to see what the current crop of McLarens can do there.
would also like to see some McLaren times when running wider tires.

And GT2 RS vs Senna may not quite be like bringing a knife to a gun fight, but would have been pretty shocking if Senna didn't win.
