I should also add that I don’t think any car out there even comes close to the 720 styling. Hands down the most beautiful IMO.

600lt and 750lt will be no where near the same price. Probably over 175k difference.

Currently have a deposit on a 600LT. It's the first Mclaren that has caught my eye. Looks to be an exciting car! Drove a 720S for nearly 1000 miles and didn't find it exciting enough to warrant a purchase, despite its insane speed.

600LT MSRP can be highly variable. My spec is low and will likely come in around $260K. The grey car that Mclaren used for their press launch is $320K MSRP approx for comparison.

I’m considering replacing my 991.1 RS with a 600LT. I configured one at the lowest spec I could do at around $255K which doesn’t seem too bad. The move to a 600LT dosen’t seem to be a huge jump in $. I tried to get a 991.2 RS with no luck. My real concern with McLaren is build quality. I’ve seen some cars on the dealer lot that seemed to have some ill fitting pieces.

I was kinda interested in a 570S until I went over to the local dealer and took a close look at one. Aside from not loving the car as much in the flesh from different angles, the fit and finish simply were not as good as a Porsche IMO. Couple that with all I've heard on here about the electrical problems, the high maintenance costs, massive depreciation, etc., and I lost any interest. Killer car, but just not for me. An acquaintance of mine bought a 570GT and last I heard was that it had been towed to the dealer already in the first six months of ownership. That would drive me nuts.

Exactly what I'm concerned with. I think the engineering of McLaren is possibly the best, but they may be the worst in fit and finish. The LT versions of the 675 seem to have the best fit and finish of any McLarens I've come across. The others have been hit or miss.

The LT's tend to be damn, damn good. But you're asking for a car company who mainly hand makes their cars to have the fit tolerances of a company who uses mainly machines to put things together. It's almost never the same. My 650s is put together great, but if something doesn't come out perfectly, it's almost always adjustable or redo-able. Worth it for a WAY more dynamic experience. My time in the 650s has had my 991 RS sitting in the garage collecting dust. It's just boring in comparison unless you're in a place you can rev out the full 8400 over and over, which other than at the track is tough.

IMO this is why the LT's are as well regarded as they are, ala GT cars to Porsche from my perception (which could be wrong). Looking at all the racing bits, aggressive looks/design, sound (wow..) - falls right in line with the GT ethos/Ferrari & Lambo special variants

Aside from reliability issues which are known of and you would hope are addressed by now, IMO the LT shouldn't take as big of a hit as a "regular" 570S or GT. The S/GT don't do much for me as Id rather go for the mid engined V8 from Maranello (458 or used 488), but the 600LT seems to be a home run. Looks really really good, takes the gorgeous 570 design and adds that killer instinct & look to it!

I've never owned a McLaren. Been watching from the sidelines the past few years to see what they come up with that can replace an RS. I think the 600LT will be it. 600 HP, 450 Tq, under 2749 lbs dry weight. We'll see. Got tired of the of hunting for a .2 RS allocation. I've heard or a few electronic issues in the past, haven't seen any regarding fit and finish. But I have a local dealer, so that's a plus. Should compliment the incoming Touring nicely.

I have never owned a McLaren, driven one or even seen one up close. My opinions are purely based on watching videos or seeing pictures. So take any comments from me regarding McLaren with a grain of salt. Having said that, the styling just doesn't do it for me. I am sure they are faster than my GT3, but speed isn't everything. I already have way more power than I can safely use on the street. But looks matter. McLaren's just aren't sexy to me. I respect the tech, and think they have come a long way in a very short time, but seeing them (in videos) does not get my juices going. To be completely fair, I feel exactly the same way about the 991 RS. Not feeling it. Cool cars. Just don't catch my eye the way my GT3 does.

But I said the same thing about the AMG GTR and I am warming up to that thing. Heck, I originally didn't like the looks of the 991.1 GT3 either, much preferring the 997 GT3 looks. Now I have completely flipped my opinion. It takes me a while to warm up to the aesthetics of a car. Maybe one day I will say the same thing about McLaren. Just don't hold your breath about the Senna. lol

Before I got my .2 GT3 I was looking at the 570S, the ones I looked at all had good fit and finish, and started reading the mclarenlife forum and it seems there are frustrating issues but rare for it to need to be towed to dealership. my .2 has already one electrical issue, so Porsche is not immune.

The fit and finish on my 570S is great. I’m not sure what others are talking about. The quality of Porsches has really dumped too since the 996/997 days. I guess it’s how people perceive things.

I'm considering a 600LT.

My concern with McLaren isn't the reliability. All cars break down. Porsches included. But when a McLaren breaks down, it becomes a huge hassle. Even in a large metropolitan area (like SoCal), there are only 3-4 McLaren dealerships within a 150 mile radius of me. There are probably at least 10 Porsche dealers within a 15 mile radius of me.

I’ve owned 12c, 650s spider, 570s, and have a 675lt spider. I have owned all generations of 911 GT cars starting with the 996 and currently have a .1 RS and my .2 GT3 and .2 RS arrive shortly. I will take my 675lt spider over any of my 911 GT cars. I also own the AMG GTR. I may change my mind when my GT2 RS arrives, but I don’t think I will.
