Default Leaked Picture Of 991.2 GT3

heres a leaked picture of the New GT3, rumors are saying it has a wing delete option, can be orderd with manual, and also 911R Stripes. Basically something to scr*w over 911R Owners.

First thing I tried doing was zooming in on the spoiler uprights to check 4.0 vs 3.8. No luck......

Thanks for the post OP. It looks like a legit pic and hot damn it's gonna be one sexy beast with those stripes AND a spoiler AND manual. Here's hoping it all comes true!!!

And if anyone has a higher res pic that can make out the displacement please share!

So how are the 911R's supposed to hold their value? The new GT3 is basically the same car, but technically "better". Am I missing something?

In all honesty, that would be great to see the R drop in value. Because then maybe it would scare the "Flippers" and "Investors" away from these types of cars so that the true enthusiasts could have them. That being said, I agree with Mooty, any car with a numbered Plaque will always have interest beyond a non-numbered car. Also, the R has some things that the 991.2 GT3 wont have and the R will always be looked at as the highest performance 991.1 car available with a Manual Transmission. So I don't think they're in danger of losing value, but sure would be great to see!

A MT car

that risks over revs where the manual game start to be interesting ( in downshifting)

that is anhemic under 5000 rpm

that over 5000 rpm in 3rd gear is way over the road legal speed

that is not meant for track

where the hell should i put it if not in the garage as an investment ?

Yes let me driving it at the next Car n Coffee car epics tales event!

Already posted, and discussed, in another thread. Its a render. Not a leaked photo. Source has already been traced to MD_photography.

Amazing how good photoshops have become huh? If it weren't for the area at base of wing mirror which is supposed to be black (not bodycolor) it would almost be hard to tell that's it's a render. The line between real and fake In all facets of media is becoming blurred... soon we'll have corporate bots on forums spreading false rumors just to distract us and generate brand-related conversations....

... oh wait... damn.

Slightly OT - but why do people want wing delete? The wing is pretty important, no?

(Honest question here, not trying to start some big thing.)

A gt3 whiteout a wing is not a gt3 buy a GTS...all this thread for a wing or not...the most important is the performance of this car, the feeling, the engine, the torque, the sound for me is the basis. And with a 3.8 or a 4.0 really important? i'm sure its a very nice car no doubt on this. Happy new year rennlisters

Some people would like Wing-Delete to make the car fly under the radar (attract less attention from onlookers and the police on public roads). Honestly, the wing is very important for places like the Nordschliefe and autobahn corners, but I doubt it would make much difference at my local track (only one potential triple-digit corner and just barely if you hit it right - not sure I've ever done it) nor local public roads.

Here are Eric5280 and I running pretty quickly in our GT4's and we don't get too close. Best I've seen on one of my laps on Harry's is minimum speed of 92 mph (only 1 sec faster lap than one below).

If there is Wing-Delete, it will come with an under-body diffuser (like Ferrari, but less extreme due to engine in the way) that produces some downforce along with the Carrera's retractable wing.

Downforce is proportional to the square of the speed you're traveling. So when you see downforce figures at 300kph (186 mph), I'm making less than 1/4 of that figure in the corners at my local track (there are some much faster tracks in the US - most of them on the East Coast).

I would consider this option, but don't think I'd be willing to pay for it. Probably keep the wing...
