I am sure that half the people who drive GT3s have absolutely no understanding of how rain and CUP 2 tyres are not happy bed fellows. They barrel around in the wet just like they would in the dry and wonder WTF happened when it goes ooops and they hit something.

Now not saying that the accident in these photos is caused by a driver who falls into this category...just making a general observation.

I've driven my GT3 with the Cup 2 on wet tracks and have gone well over 100 mph. But you need to have good car control, recognize what the stability control can and can't do, and be very aware of what runoff areas you're working with.

Roads with limited and unsafe runoff areas, opposing traffic, etc. aren't a good place to explore the limits of this car in the wet.

Sorry to see what happened to the car and driver in the picture, but perhaps it will help others by teaching a lesson.

My experience tells me there are many folks that have more money than driving skills / patience / common sense / appreciation for the somewhat unique application of the GT3. Furthermore, and even more concerning is when I see folks (some on RL) that buy the GT3/RS to be 'cool' and don't appreciate (or care about) the driving skill that most GT drivers do take seriously.
Not saying that's what has happened here. Though, if he's driving the GT3 in the rain without the appropriate tires and/or driving skills, then maybe it is.
Bottom line....happy to see no one was hurt. Things can be repaired/replaced.

Had to drive my GT3 home in somewhat heavy rain. Not fun but well aware how little rain it takes to upset those fookin awful Dumblops. Lucky with very few "busy hands" incidents on the steering wheel.

Tires appear to be Michelin based on the sidewall, so probably a Sport Cup 2.

I think they're fine in the rain, especially when they are newer and it's fairly warm outside.

The first "proper" drive I did in my 991 was during June 2015 on some largely unfamiliar roads in Western North Carolina that were very wet. The tires had about 1,500 miles on them and they were just fine, just as good as Pilot Super Sports IMO. The car telegraphs a lot of feedback to the driver so no real reason to get out of sorts if you have experience driving a performance car...

That said, we have no clue what happened to the unfortunate owner, not necessarily a single car incident.
