It gets that hot here in NorCal in the summer.

I would pick a 570 in a heartbeat over a R8. Better performance, more exotic, more exclusive, etc. I guess the only reason I would lean the other way would be if I were really far from a Mac service center (which I'm not).

Someone else might have said this earlier in the thread, but if not, I might also suggest driving a 650s. A very lightly used coupe can probably be found for similar money as a new 570. IMHO, the 650s really is a lot more car

BMW DCTs have auto-creep from the factory, but dealers can program it off. On all others, it cannot, for what I know. I don't mind auto-creep, but my question is if there's a clutch longevity reason for it, as most sports/exotics have auto-creep? Thx. The good news for us non-PDK-S Porsche owners is it's easy to paddle-shift to N on stop lights, if desired.

I doubt there's a good clutch reason. I bet it's just that people are used to automatics creeping. My Tesla defaults to auto-creep and obviously it doesn't have a transmission.

In the old days of Ferrari F1 (360 for example) they told you not to let it creep as it actually destroyed the clutch. Clearly that's a different animal however.

One thing in the R8's favor is servicing costs. If you buy Audicare at the time of purchase for about $1,000, all maintenance costs are included in the factory warranty time/mileage frame.

Might be important to some, maybe not.

Yes they will. While these cars are selling, they aren't exactly flying out the door. Go for a test drive.. nothing faster or more unique at $180k, the carbon tub has a feel all its own. Overall it's very impressive

Gotcha. I just love the way the R8 sounds with the V10. Plus I would love to feel like Tony Stark

Absolutely agree with that! I really would love to aim for a 675LT. I saw a white one in my neighborhood not too long ago. Very beautiful car

I will try to set up a test drive soon. Problem is that theres is no McLaren of San Diego dealership. Ill have to make some time to head up to Newport Beach or LA.
