Sorry about this. Were any of those codes saying to stop the car/engine immediately?

Op sorry to hear this but st least you are safe. Porsche should cover this under warranty.

He was flirted with a hot British thing but will get over it.

Who here is brave enough to track one of these outside of warranty???

No doubt a bad situation for the OP. I would think this ends in a favorable resolution for the OP.

Glad you're ok, Rich. I am hopeful Porsche will do the right thing and all will be well again.

Sucks, but lends credence to the theory motors are quickest right before they let go. Porsche will cover the engine replacement the fire may complicate things. Probably a buy back deal.

Holy crap, so sorry to hear about this and see those pictures! This doesn't inspire confidence about the durability of my GT3, which I believe is the same vintage as Rich's. Porsche better cover this under warranty, or else ...

Thanks for all the kind words of support. I'm trying to keep this in perspective. I'm safe, I didn't affect any other cars, and it could have been much worse. But, this is the third major issue I've had with the car and any one of them could have resulted in some pretty bad outcomes. It's certainly getting harder to keep faith in the brand. They really need to step up to make this good since it appears the track insurance isn't going to cover this type of incident. I'm off to drink some good wine and not worry about it until I hear an initial response from Porsche.

that sucks, its obvious the motor issues are not going away. makes me second guess my deposit for a 991.2 not sure if they realize the problem and really understand the reality of the issue. hope they cove it for you

Rich - sorry to see this. So thankful you were able to exit the burning car safely. Scary stuff.

Crumbs Rich! Just saw the post.
Glad you're safe.
Of late you've been having a few issues with the beast and this may just be a blessing in disguise. Time for the car and you to part company and make space for a replacement. It'll all work out fine. PCNA and your dealership will no doubt put things right. There's of course this and the 125 Smokies GT owners who are also watching this space and expecting an honourable resolution for you.
