When Porsche makes a cayenne/panamera with a 60-100mile range on battery alone, hooked up to a turbo 4cyl engine I'll buy one.
Those miles will do pretty much all of my DD. And when I go on a longer trip that 4cyl engine will do just fine. Gas stations are already excisiting. No need to reinvent the wheel with charge stations outside of the cities.
That new desig Panamera looks really good.

I was very disappointed by Porsche's display this year. The only car that was particularly interesting was the RSR. LWB Panameras? Meh. No Sport Touring, no eTron (or whatever they call the all-electric sedan prototype) no 991.2 GTS or GT3; no Panamera GTS; really nothing much. I drove 140 miles round trip to get there and only stayed about 20 minutes.
The good news was for my bank account; it doesn't look like there will be anything from Porsche this coming year that I'll have to buy!
Maybe next year...

Well, I certainly would differ to you as you have always seemed to provide good Porsche Motorsports info around here. You sound like you have larger issues with BOP than most. All I know is I watched 2 IMSA races and 4 WEC races in their entirety this year and they were not competitive. Far from class leading..
The fluidity of BOP means that no one has the "car to beat," although the Porsches were rarely the class of the field. They won under controversy at Long Beach and finished 1-2 at COTA. They've been nowhere in WEC, but even the GTE Pro effort there is not really a factory effort, so they have no factory BOP lobbying support. Le Mans was a one-off race for the factory this year, and both cars experienced terminal failures.

And that RSR is hideously ugly. Reminds me of the Lego GT3RS. Looks like it backed over a stack of shipping pallets.

I have watched every IMSA race this year in its entirety, and attended several of them (which I watched later on the Youtube replay), as well as every WEC race in its entirety, and attended the COTA round. Agree. At the end of the day Le Mans is by far the most important race. WEC FIA is a far, far distant second. This is what Ford got right. New aero/down force is fine - but if it can get down the Mulsanne straight - we'll get crushed.

So two of the three debuts were just different 4,500lb Panamera models? That is disappointing. So much for a sporting model to coincide with the LA PEC opening. WTF, Porsche.
And that RSR is hideously ugly. Reminds me of the Lego GT3RS. Looks like it backed over a stack of shipping pallets.

"Maybe they'll add some other cool stuff by the time I get there next week."
I wouldn't count on it. I talked to someone from Porsche (not sure if a dealer or PCNA, definitely not German) who shared my disappointment. He said they had few cars on display this year, and made no mention whatever of any further additions. I always go back later to see the rest of the show, and the Porsche display has never been changed once it has opened.

(which will turn into a Panamera Sport Touring if they ever really do bring it to the US. Unless Audi brings in the RS6 Avant...)

If you want to see interesting Porsches, just go to the new PEC.

I think that looks right. BTW, Geneva is a spectacular car town. Saw some stunning machines there (real 73RS, E-Type lightweight, Enzo, La Ferrari) just parked and/or driving around (not at a show)...
