can use 19" BBS E07 over steel Brakes or 19" Monoblocks. Both are 19x9" front and 19x12" rear...

Nice! Not bad... So the experienced GT3 guys on 265/325 Hoosiers are doing mid 53s?

That's right. Mid 153's on wider Hoosiers vs RE71R. About a 2 second difference.

So do you feel a stock car on Cup2s would also be in the mid 55s?

Yes, I ran Cup 2's all last year on stock 20" wheels. I think the RE71r's are comparable in grip but I like the way the Bridgestones wear better and they don't seem to heat cycle out as fast. Although this is my first set and I currently have 4 days on them.

Just switch out to Steel brakes and we can get the 19" BBS E88 Centerlocks on there and 19" hoosiers. Likely fit a 275-285 up front and 335 in the back!

Looking for any updates on this.

Is anyone using RE-71R on stock 20" wheels, esp. at the track? They won't be my primary track tires but rather back-up/rain/street tires. Already have primary track tires on 19" wheels.

Looking for something that won't quickly heat cycle out like Cup 2.

They don't make a suitable rear size for the stock wheels (295/30/20 is closest and its max rim width is 11". GT3 has 12"). Would be nice if they made something like a 325/25/20, but they don't...

Orthojoe at Post #83:

"Well, I'm coming back to post my final thoughts on the RE71 295 rear tires on the GT3:

Unfortunately, I don't think it's a good combo. After making all the sway bar adjustments I could, the car continues to lack stability on corner entry. The back end breaks loose too easily from lack of rubber and the stretched tires in the rear. The car is still driveable, but the setup just isn't right. "

On my 991.1 GT3 running Cup 2, I've found that the front tires wear out before they heat-cycle out, and the rear tires heat-cycle out with plenty of tread still remaining. Strange stuff, but others have had the same experience with this car and tires. The front and rear tires are usually done roughly at the same time, so I change all four at the same time.

The biggest problem I have with the Cup 2 is that, when pushing hard, they overheat after a few laps, and then for the remainder of the session the lap time is off quite a bit. That sucks when 'racing' during a DE session.

When I called Phil’s Tire (dealer for these) about those, they told me they won’t fit on the rear 12” wheels either...

Do you know someone who used them successfully?
