Well since at that time it will be out of warranty, it will not be Porsche's problem anymore, but they will gladly sell the parts to repair the engines.

But again it's not like they are blowing up like crazy, for every one that blew up and got posted in here, there are 10 that's working fine and had no problems.

9k rpm is there but it doesn't mean one has to use all 9k all the time. The other day I was test driving my track in a 918, I found out I could use 3rd gear to go around a big section of the track, from 1500rpm all the way to 9000rpm, it's doable but sort of pointless.

That's a BIG tidbit IMO. I'm guessing as a response to other manufacturers offering similar programs. Competition is indeed good for the consumer.

At Paris. There are a tonne of pictures on the web. Its the Cup engine hence the single entry muffler (no need to worry about resonance or noise here).

I thought the same thing. Looks like an angry whale shark. In a good way.

I didn't know enough to comment but I didn't understand their skepticism.. I figured if Porsche put into production then it must be tried and tested right? After all.. they're PORSCHE!

Having seen what owners of 991.1 gt3's have gone through over past 3 years, Now I understand the value of racing a motor, especially a high revving 9k rpm NA one. That lesson will stick with me always.

I'm sure one day Ill be the old man on the forums, and all the young whipper-snappers will be falling all over themselves to purchase the latest 20k rpm hybrid wunderkind whatever engine and I'll say... "I remember many many years ago an engine called the 9a1.. 9k rpm was a lot in those days.. " etc etc.

Anyway, as you were gents...
Well stated CA. Would wait to see what the new RSR engine is all about. More then likely future GT street cars will have the engine. That will be the GT car to consider.

Not enough there to make me upgrade but hopefully everyone else will if I run IMSA next year in gold! But having 4 cars in gold this year was a joke.
