I just spent $542 for a plug change at the dealership of which $342 was labor with my PCA discount. Plugs listed for $37.71 and I was charged $33.45. I assume you meant that each plug was $24.15. Would like to know where you bought yours. Will try it myself next year.

...and to think I was talking with my mechanic the other day about the changing of the plugs. Totally forgot about this DIY thread. Might give it a go next year when I do my oil change. Thanks again Ed.

I haven't found any specs on the original factory plugs, which were made by Bosch. The new Bosch 991 GT3 plugs look the same as the originals.
Here's the info on the electrodes for the new plugs:
Center electrode core material....NIY + CU
Center electrode material...........NIY
Ground electrode material..........NIY

Ground electrode material..........NIY

I love this idea as I just had to pay $1200 for my 12000 mile service.
My only question is warranty. I thought the 4 year warranty depends on you doing the recommended service at the recommended intervals via your Porsche dealer?
I'd hate to blow an engine on the track and not be compensated due to performing my own 12,000 mile service.

I tried to run with those numbers with no luck. I have tried this before but always ran into a dead end. Porsche must have an exclusive with Bosch so they can charge ridiculous prices. I even tried Euro web sites with no luck. Anybody else have luck......
