I decided to change my plugs again but couldn't find any plugs at a great price, usually around $9.00. Bosch ZGR5NQE04 or Bosch # 0 242 145 562 seem to be in short supply, I have found them in the UK and if we can eliminate the VAT they will land here for around the same price, i'll keep you all posted hopefully by Monday.
Highly recommend changing plugs around 10K miles or 2 years, whichever comes first.
Dealer confirmed issue due to misfire over 8K RPM while tracking car this past weekend.....basically went into limp mode at 100 MPH.
I had exactly 10K miles and 2 years since last major service. Would normally DIY, but letting dealer perform just to make sure issue resolves itself. Expensive lesson!
My issue did not go away after replacing spark plugs, coil packs, etc. Porsche are replacing engine due to issue with wear on valve lift leavers. Main reason 991.1 engines have a 10 year warranty.
All I did was type "Bosch ZGR5NQE04" in my browser (edge) and the first non-amazon link was for: https://www.boschsparkplugs.net/product.aspx?zpid=46767 that link took me directly to the order page.
I am not sure why in one place it is call "sparkplugs.com" and the other place it is "boschsparkplugs.net" but it is the same place

Do we have confirmation of that part number working on both .1 and .2 GT3 or just .1 (my impression)?
OK, so after much personal confusion on the subject of which spark plugs I need; I called Bosch technical support last night and here is what they told me:
ZGR5NQE04 is a Bosch type number not a part number. And this type covers three different Bosch spark plugs, one platinum and two nickel. The Bosch part number we want is 0242145562 and this covers both Porsche part numbers 99917015590 and 91 for either .1 or .2 cars.
The plug itself only has the type number on it, but the box has both type and part numbers printed.
For me; I got lucky, as the plugs I received from boschsparkplugs.com (also sparkplugs.com) have the correct Bosch part number. However, searching that very same site for the correct Bosch part number yields no results. And finally, the listing for the plugs on the site does not include either the Bosch nor the Porsche part number. If anyone plans on ordering from them I suggest a call first to verify.

FYI, I ordered from Sparkplugs.com using ZGR5NQE on Monday and got this note from them on Tuesday. Thank you for your Bosch order. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has just informed us that this part is now discontinued with no replacement and they no longer have stock. This means we are unable to ship you all 6 quantity. We have 4 quantity left in stock. Please advise if you wish us to ship you the last of our stock or if you would like to cancel the order.

Thanks for the info. But I’m still confused as to why one Bosch part number (0242145562) should cross-reference to two Porsche numbers (and they’re even priced differently). Seems weird that Porsche would make a new superseding part number if the part didn’t change (or maybe the Bosch part has improved for the .2 but it’s also backwards compatible to the .1?)
Did there used to be a different Bosch number for the .1 when they were new other than 0242145562?
So I just had my dealer change the plugs on my car. Reason for not doing it myself is I don't want to get in trouble since I'm going into the Extended warranty in a couple of months, end of June when factory warranty ends. For the same reason I bought the OEM plugs at ~$50/each...
This is how they look after 11500km of use. I think they are fairly evenly worn between cylinders, which was good to see, although I was surprised at the general state of them. A 2-year change interval, as in the US, is not in the EU service schedule, but I think it should be. I will change again in 2 years, or similar milage. I imagine the car runs a bit smoother now with the new plugs, maybe placebo...

Glad you’re all set, but $50 per plug is over double of what the OEM plugs cost here:
Grant, I am painfully aware of that. When I planned to do it myself, I was in contact with Suncoast, but with our current crappy SEK to USD rate, together with shipping, customs and VAT on top - it wasn't worth it.
