911R Weight Reduction

For someone who has an engineering degree, I feel thrilled when I hear terms like creative, and elegant engineering. These days, we only hear about cost reduction engineering. Best achievements in engineering always come when creativity is at work. Kudos, and please keep us posted.

Given the temperature at which stainless steel oxidizes vs. the lower point for titanium, I would "bite the bullet" and buy a new set of the Porsche nuts. Indeed, though not overly expensive when compared to the very high end (i.e., $25,000 or more), given that the Dundon exhaust is not inexpensive either, the nuts should be the least of the issue.

Re elegance in engineering, a great automotive engineer, John Barnard, taught me that, in most instances, the best engineering solutions are the most elegant ones. I also learned that it is usually most cost efficient to go for the highest level solution and scale down rather than start low and scale up.
