It's pretty rare these days a car comes with decent paint...my 458 was a disgrace...the F12 was pretty decent...RS was "ok" still needed major paint correction though.

I remember from one of the "Inside Porsche Factory" videos, maybe it as during 997, that the painters had to be trainees for 2 years before they where ready to actually paint any cars.

With robots it is probably much more difficult to get a proper paint job: I assume the robots are configured to avoid curtains at any cost which gives us orange peel.

One doesn't with what paint correction implies (various stage polishing). Only way to really deal with it that I've heard of is wet sanding.

My car is now still locked at the factory from March 10th (delivery date at the dealer was March 23rd) still for « quality control issue » with no any info from anybody, the car is paied, insured and registration plate ready, that is a very strange things...

Dealer says that ALL GT2 rs is locked at the factory, it will be interesting to know if there is some was delivered on the last 15days or planned on the next few weeks for delivery...

My car has just moved back a month from 27 March to 27 April completion. No idea if that will turn out to be accurate,
original 'delivery' date was 1 March.
