I think (don't know) that it's going to be time-limited production, but not numbered, so maybe 1500 cars or so.

1500 is what I've been told as well. Just hope I can get one as a non-VIP.

991 is a very large car (and in this case wider than most of the others...)

I wish they would make the 911 a proper size (ala 993 and earlier) and give people a Panamera Coupe (928) for those looking for a Grand Touring size...

Your best bet is to get one overseas. The car would be under the "substantially similar" clause. You could just get it right in. A few hurdles and its yours. It's better than getting a 2nd hand one and paying a 120k premium after somebody repeatedly beat on it

The problem is we are always seeking better handling, braking, accelerating, tracking ect.

In order to achieve perfection the car needs to get bigger- longer wheel base ect ect.

You can not have both and Porsche will not go backwards

What they need to focus on is taking more weight out of the larger cars-

I disagree. Growing those dimensions does much more harm than good to those performance measures, due to the extra weight it creates. The car has grown because people have physically grown and their definition of a luxury car requires more interior room. It hasn't grown for any performance reasons (beyond crash worthiness)...

Disagree. 911 race engineers have always sought to increase wheelbase in order to improve handling and lower lap times and were very happy when the longer wheelbase 991 arrived. You'd be amazed at lengths that many went to on 997 Cup/Grand Am/R/RSR just to get a few extra mm of wheelbase.

Do you think it would change that calculus if RWS was used in racing as it is on the road cars (i.e. short wheelbase with RWS gives virtual long wheelbase performance without some of the compromises required with actual long wheelbase)?

Don't know. Never been privy to a discussion on that topic but logic suggests it would change at least some part of the calculus.

The mule looks very unstable through the corners; it looks like new suspension set up is not optimal - wrong spring rate on both front and back + some
and it seems there's too much power to handle.

Previous runs on other videos looked much better.

I saw what you're pointing out, but I thought the driver was either trying to heat the tires (think pace lap racers) or was purposely "over-driving" the steering wheel to provoke yaw events as a way to record yaw damping data.
