The purple one 2 posts back seems like a Euro spec car with black decals.

In the article is a US spec car. No decals.
I wonder why Manthey runs a US spec car in Germany?

You can't get one there as a civilian, so its either a pre-export European delivery or they bought one of the US spec purple RS I met at the Ring that were being driven and tested by Porsche personnel.

So directly from Porsche confirming Manthey = Porsche testing and development. And they have at least two.

Looks great on Mg wheels. Wonder how much improvement their suspension actually yields?

I'm playing with some PASM module and it's very interesting to me what the oem shocks can do as-is.

Isn't it possible to add downforce without adding (as much) drag?

More testing next weekend at Sebring.

At least we have good threads as opposed this one where its mostly crickets!

Really cool:
- Dealer allocations for cars
- Submitting order builds, timeline, waiting, production, delivery
- Option suggestions, option popularity %, CXX options, PTS
- Future models and outlook
- Financing vs. Leasing vs. Cash details (also pros and cons)
- Resale values, auction values, trade in values
- Pricing for cars, MSRP, ADM, typical Discounts etc
- Personal finance, will you get approved?
- What dealer doesn't tell you?
- VIP programs
- All Porsche models ownership & options experience/feedback/suggestions
- And anything similar!

lol hang in there.
I have not gotten off my *** to do a setdown measurement yet, all is stock right now. I have not been to RA in a while but did set a personal best at AMP at 1:28. That came from reviewing data from Leh in my car. That helped a lot. besides a small push in 1 section, the car feels pretty good to me, although Leh hated it. I am just am not fast enough to take the car into that last bit of oversteer/understeer. Gonna hook with Seth Thomas after Smokies and when i can have$$/find new tires. he wants to compare with me his RS tweaked to mine stock. Not sure I will feel any difference at my pace.

Your just too fast! Slow down and all with be well

I look forward to Road Atlanta in May / June.
Personal best years ago was 1.34 on 997RS and 1.37 in 964RSA. we will see what the 991RS does :-)

A little more testing at Sebring first or I would already have contacted a local shop to park the truck and trailer for the summer..

Post it up. Seth, you too.

The complete package installed in the car reduces the lap time at Hockenheim by 2.7sec compared to the stock car and it's also 0,5sec faster than the 918 Spyder.

It contains suspension, wheels, diffusor and setup.

Please see the other topic which shows an onboard lap in the car:

Greetings Michael

PS: The purple car is a PAG car which was handed out to Manthey-Racing for R&D purpose.

Downside of more polishers than drovers. Back from Easter weekend yday and hopped in RS for a drive. All was back in order after the first 5 miles....

Aware of video. Don't see 2.7sec gain over stock RS from wheels, suspension, and set-up alone on 1min track, especially one as flat as Hockenheim. Comparison is far from apples to apples - same driver, same day otherwise it's just yapping.

I'll probably meet Michael on the 2nd of May if any of you've got any questions you want me to pass on.

Kobalt, ask him about details!
Its not just one thing to claim that much improvement, it has to be a tire / down force / setup / shocks / springs combo.

My thought is that on MPSC2 there is a lot of time to be found in killing the tires.

That's why I am testing the DSC:

CUP2 tires are weird.
I probably would try the Bridgestone RE71 if I wouldn’t drive so much in hard rain from what I read on Rennlist (GT4 section, where the track guys go...) but they don’t make them in RS size yet anyway.

Or go Hoosier or slicks with 19" but that means trailering, tools, wheels etc.

The CUP2 tires…
Some get many track days out of them. I get 4 at best.
So, the construction is about 25% slick and about 75% harder (like a Supersport I guess):
http://www.michelinman.com/US/en/tir...rt-cup-2.html#
Everyone probably know this already.

For me it’s perfect because I always have a Michelin Super Sport to drive home on, it basically never wears out.
Only the OUTER 25% wears and eventually cords but not until the tire is as slow as a MSS. The inside looks like new.

For example when I ran Dunlops, same lap time but the entire tire goes to slick and It’s a handful to drive home in the wet. They also cant take the heat / weight on the RS and they fall apart.

So I read about 991’s adding camber. Just like I tried -2.7/-3 and the tire just gets slower because you use the inner 75% so you end up with a MSS.

I have backed off more and more. Now -2camber all around and they still get heat cycled out before I cord them.
I don’t bother cording the fronts because pushy and slower.

I am running stiff sway bars to keep them from cording on day 1 or 2.
Now with new DSC box I think the bars can be middle (only 3 holes front and rear on 991RS).
But because the shocks dynamically stiffen the car leans less and so I hope to still get 4 days out of them. The first test day looked very promising.
Back to Sebring on Saturday for more testing.
