Tell him you'll give him the $15,000 contingent upon it being deposited in an interest bearing account in which you are the beneficiary and sole decision maker of how and when the funds are invested.
Love your posts- no one ever needs to question what you mean

Trust a dealer as far as you can throw them.

My dealer requires $500 for any allocation deposit.

Buy a lightly used 991.1 GT3 from the dealer. Try and get a good deal. Make it clear that you consider that the deposit on the next one, but that you have no interest in waiting years while providing him an interest-free loan. Tell him you will trade back the 991.1 GT3 for him to resell when your allocation for whatever you want next is locked. He gets to make money 3 times in short order and you don't have to wait to enjoy your first sports car. If that's not an acceptable deal, you need another dealer. You probably do anyway because that deposit amount is absurd.

Makes great sense. A relationship is the key.

This is good advice but he did mention that he's from a small country and doesn't have access to other dealers.

Bought three 911's from my dealer. One of the top 20 in the country. Very reputable. Gave them a $1000 deposit for a signed purchase order at MSRP for an GT3RS or GT3 on their next allocation.

The GT3 cars are historically NA which may explain why there won't be a 991.2 version which for non GT3 cars will be twin turbo.

Also stated that to get your name on the list for the 2018 991.2 GT2/RS you have to put down a refundable deposit of about $15,000 and doesn't have any details about the vehicle including whether its going to be a PDK or Manual vehicle.

My questions to those in the know; is there going to be a 991.2 GT3 and do any of those in the know have any details about the 991.2 GT2/RS

Thanks,
SNB

If he is in Europe, at least within the EU, he should be able to find viable and good alternatives. If he really can't, this seems a fine situation in which to contact the factory.

Good luck regardless.

Thanks guys for all your responses, I am currently looking at 991.1 GT3/RSs within the region I live in and hopefully I can get a good deal on one soon!

As for the 991.2 GT2, I have been told by a relative of mine that he could get me on the list free of charge as he has a great relationship with the dealer. But I guess I'm going yo have to wait and see.
