I read the thread says 991.2 GT3 would be a 4.0 with manual option, source is 918 project leader. If so, 911r would not be that valuable after porsche release 991.2 GT3?

911R is a numbered car with only 991 built. It will only appreciate in value. The 991.2 GT3 will not affect its resale value.

GT3 RS June 2018

In usual fashion, model announcements to the market will be 4-6 months in advance. GT3 formal release is Geneva 2017.

Also, I was told yesterday that the 991.2 GTS may be delayed because the 991.2 S/4S is selling so well that there is no need to rush the GTS to market to act as the end of life sales kicker for when sales start to slow down.
Agreed, but I can see the GT3 RS skipped in 2018..

I don't have a real answer for that.. but after the .2 6MT gt3 rumors started.. The local auto trader had 10 x 997 gt3's pop up on the market.......

Yes. Rumors have already softened the market. Some may dip back to the 70s for a while.

While there's manual circle jerk in this place (I'm included in this group), I suspect most on RL and the ROW will still get the PDK. The 991.1 sell-off might be related to the possible increase in displacement to 4.0 and other mechanical refinements....my 2 cents.

I will only purchase the .2 if it is offered in a manual....

Hey I'm trying to keep track of 991.2 release schedule using actual release date numbers (and historical release dates for 991.1, 997.1 .2)

I just added 'spy shots' as an indicator and for the 991.2 range it appears to be between 48-124 days that they are spied before they are officially announced.

For the 991.2 GT3 it should be announced shortly not next year (just based on historical and spy shots) -

Yellow bits are all speculation -

Here's the full spreadsheet for anyone interested in the history of releases -

You need to give something in change when lowering the 9k rpm...

My gut says there's gonna be a 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS; probably both NA with the 6 speed as an option. Porsche didn't design that 6-speed transmission just for 991 cars. Then they'll probably have an extra-special limited edition again.

The next-gen 911 GT3 will probably be turbo based on the GT3 class rule changes and ever strengthening emission laws. Maybe later on naturally-aspirated comes back with a hybrid electric motor.

I was told explicitly 3.8 for GT3. And as other posted very very very very likely Turbo RS.
