I want to want one of these.
But, at $400k base price, I'd rather get another McLaren 675LT, or a 991.1 GT3 RS at the absurd prices they're going for right now.
I think it is a mistake for Ford to price the 3rd gen GT at this high price point. I don't care what the 2nd gen GT is listing at these days ($350k-$500k), it isn't selling at those prices, and lots of the cars have been on the market for 6-9 months.

So Autospies is reporting that the 2017 GT will have 720 hp, 9.4 sec quarter at 170 mph, and cost $600k. I had posted this last night but then when I looked, I couldn't actually find a reference to Ford officially announcing these numbers and figured it was bogus. I still can't find anything official, but the post is still up.
The trap speed seems awfully high as does the MSRP, but who knows.

Can't do the math in my head fast enough, but those numbers look real optimistic. Even if it weighs ~1,000 lbs less than a 918 - if that is the curb at 2,550 lbs, how in the heck can it better the current crop of hypercars by better than a half second and 20+mph in the quarter with 200hp less?
Has to be using some serious rubber in the rear also, Viper ACR tires or bigger?

I wonder where those numbers came from... Ford, officially?

I had some problems with the rear when I first saw it (reminded me of a pigs face with those exhaust tips and lights for some reason..), but now it's getting better and better each time I see it.
Stunning looking car as a whole though!

I have to call bs on a 170 mph trap speed. That is insane

Ford makes great looking supercars. In truth, this design is so much less complicated in appearance than its Ferrari or Lamborghini counterparts, but more attractive in my opinion.

Friend of mine is a big Ford collector...has like 21 cars all Fords...you name it multiple Ford Gt's (Heritage -still in wrapper...went down assembly line with) Shelby's, Boss 429, raptor , t Birds etc etc...he told me it's doubtful he'll get one...until maybe , maybe year 2....this car makes the demand for the RS look like child's play

Forget a year 1 model. I'll take one of the last off the line. I'm patient. And late builds tend to have minor issues ironed out by then, anyway.
I still don't know if I'm willing to pay $400k+ for a 2017 Ford GT, though.
