I promise, I won't say a thing

There is no such thing as a trusted source in or for Porsche... unless that person is working on the Specific Project. Porsche Internally is like East Germany. They don't share information with others departments within Porsche, atleast that is how Sacha Glaesier (name SP?) explained it to me when asked.

If you do not hear the information from someone with a German Accent and at the Porsche booth at an Auto Show that information holds little water. If it comes from some salesman I would take it with a grain of salt unless something is just about to be released/unveiled.

No, unless you stir the salt particles (rumors) in the water vigorously and then you have what is known in physics as a "suspension"...

This is basically what we do with all the rumors.. We add them all together, stir up a froth of conversation, and then we suspend belief and hope our argument holds water.

I agree with the German accent at the Porsche booth idea.. Or at the factory somehow, That's our level 1, that's our cleaning lady... Everyone else is somewhere on the 2-5 levels which are just for fun.

+1

Within the engineering and testing department's at Porsche they stay very tight lipped. Don't know if they have to sign some type of NDA or not. The only time I believe something from them is when someone higher up the ladder like Pruenger drops some hints and such. Not when some Sales Manager or Sales Person tells me some tidbits of juicy Porsche Performance Car that is coming soon. Most times they are just as strategy to gather steam to sell cars later on. Remember never believe a unknown, to you, sales person as far as you can throw them!

Some don't understand : there's a reason the cleaning lady is level 1. Would you do her job for a week if you had unlimited access to most PAG offices and parts of the factory? I bet you would!
Sure, most info is stored in the head of those in charge, but there's always a paper trail that can provide tons of info. Have you not watched James Bond...ever?
Also you hear and see things around the factory when you're there every day. Things you and I don't... Of course, for a regular cleaning lady, they could care less...but she's no regular cleaning lady my friends!

'Pruenger'? I see...you obviously must know him well!

The name is 'Sascha Glaeser'. And sadly, what is left of the
East German 'Stasi' finally got to him, in daylight, as he was
walking on Rodeo Drive going to his 'Porsche Exclusive' office
in Beverly Hills.

He is no longer with Porsche, obviously because he talked too freely
to you (& perhaps others) at auto shows. Loose lips does sink ships!

However, Sascha's beautiful 'Orange' RSR clone might still be available
for sale if anyone is interested! We need to help his widow & orphaned
children!

So they fired Sascha outright? Thought he was going to be top dog at the new West Coast, LA Area, Porsche Driving Experience Center? Who is going to head up shop there?

Good point about Pruenger. The whole Paddles are for Grandmas Comment blew up in his face. So to say that one cannot believe anyone who work's for Porsche in any capacity can be believed, that is until it is officially announced.

I don't believe Sascha was fired. It just didn't work out for him at the
'Porsche Experience Center' in LA. He was offered a job back at PAG
in Germany. But he loves Los Angeles too much & wanted to spend
more time here in the United States at the moment. So he & Porsche
parted ways.

Trying to do the 'Experience Center' in LA has been a 'dangerous' job
at Porsche. It has cost the job of at least two people with promise.
The development of the land has been a 'struggle' from the very
beginning. There has been some environmental impact issues
(soil contamination, etc.) that Porsche was not expecting to find
at the Carson site.

James Taylor (not Kerry's 'You Got A Friend' - a different James Taylor! )
had a lot of experience in this sort of thing. Taylor had established the
now-well known 'Porsche Experience Centre' in Silverstone, England!
But the troubles he encountered in this LA project sort of doomed his
career at Porsche....

James Taylor was pushed out in 2014 & replaced by Sascha Glaeser.
Apparently, Sascha wasn't able to do the 'miracle' job that Porsche
expected of him. The project is still not completed. But they think
it might be finished sometime in 2016, more than two years behind
schedule!

Unfortunately, the 'Porsche Experience Center' in LA has become the
'Bermuda Triangle' for several Porsche executives. I do not know who
Porsche has put in charge of finishing the Center. I hope he/she lasts
at least until the damn things finally opens!

I sincerely wish Sascha all the best. I am sure all the Porsche
customers that dealt with him when he was manager of 'Porsche
Exclusive' in North America feel the same way! He just ran into
some bad luck in Carson!

Eduardo

Lol. I stay busy enough that I don't dwell on it. Let me just throw something out here so you guys understand where I'm at- I'm not the cleaning lady but am a huge fan of the brand. As a huge fan I think everyone is due the shock and surprise that the initial launch PR creates for new and special stuff. I know who to ask and how to ask them questions, but it is because I am emotionally invested in the brand and financially.

Also, I'd never want to be responsible for leaking something sensitive (like when I physically heard and saw a PDK GT3 test mule in 2009). Imagine if I had done that and people got all pissed at Porsche or me. The negative side is not worth it. Apparently the Porsche officials that I interact with a lot like me enough and I will not jeopardize that.

Another rennlister with an even deeper connection to the Porsche brand once warned me in PM to never post anything too revealing, as it will get back to germany eventually that I leaked it.

When you go to Weissach they take your phones and your passports. You see some amazing stuff. But you can only go home with even bigger dreams and ghost stories. Bring a buddy so you can talk to him.

From what I understand Porsche is putting that little center on Goodyear's Land where they use to Land The Goodyear Blimps. But there is no telling what they did with that land before Porsche came along. They owned it since before WWII.

Nein! You got your information all wrong. It's not the Goodyear
Blimp site. Read the news article I posted again!

"At this time last year, the site was home to the Dominguez
Hills Golf Course and an apartment building. Now, the land
is just a flat plain of dirt covering a former landfill. Environmental
remediation has to be done to contain underground methane
from the closed landfill, and developers are trucking in an
average of three loads of dirt per hour as they work to bring
300,000 square cubic feet of soil to shape the track’s courses,
said James Taylor, the project’s leader.
"

And suggest you read earlier news stories written when Porsche
bought the site, before it started to develop it!

I really respect your integrity. And if you're ever short a "buddy" to tag along with you to porsche hq to check out their next greatest thing I'm sure there will be more than a few raised hands here on rl! Shotgun!!
