I find it funny that people get approved for PTS and everyone orders the same 2 colors (blue or green)...how about Aubergine, Signal Yellow, Tangerine, non-met slate gray, etc ?? Bill

The issue is that the approved choices are limited and the flexibility on moving them forward is terrible. I tried to do my Targa in Signal Orange and was told 9 months for feasibility so I settled on slate grey (non-metallic) I like to keep my RS in historic 2.7 RS colors, so ended up with Viper Green, as so many colors were not approved. I would have gone Signal Yellow if not for my 991 GT3 being Racing Yellow. I really want to do my GT2 RS in Strawberry, but haven't put the effort into making it happen yet....
Did you figure out how some 911r owners were able to order PTS?..: is there a secret elite among the VIP status?
There is a special room inside Blenheim Palace where the 911R PTS selectees gathered to choose their desired hues. Invite sealed in black wax with the initials "FP." Gentleman at the head of the table is explaining that "you can have any color, as long as it's not aquamarine."
I'd say there is a trickle down effect from the people we all assume to be top/VIP:
Tier1 Porsche/ Piech Family
Tier2 Super Execs (prueninger, etc?)
Tier3 People who are tight with these people & long-term factory racers
Tier4 Seinfeld & Leno
Tier5 Everyone else
Next time, should anyone be interested, I can do a carbon fiber version of that fuel cell with a carbon fiber strap, and, I suspect, a better collector system inside (better against starvataion in the case of extreme left and right turns).
