Wife says - comfortable; interior looks like it matches price tag; loved driving it home; but she's a CPA/CA accountant - she says realize the equity in car, put storage insurance on it and stop driving it.

Yes, confirmed 992 GT3 RS sits higher than my 7.2 GT3/RS. I am not plowing into the speed bumps that I am used to with the 7.2 GT3. I have no lift (don't want one; front lip is a consumable item; will stock up a few).

Agreed with the CF front hood. It's a work of art. Feels lighter than all the 997s for sure. Good luck in getting yours soon!

As for the size, I agree, these things are huge and I hate that part of it...but after driving a 991 cup I was blown away at how much easier it is to drive than a 997...so I'm cool with the extra size...like my waist!!
Thanks! Yes, these cars are stupid easy to drive fast; not so with all pre-991 GT3s.

Like anything worthwhile and rewarding in life, to squeeze out additional time will require practice, skill, and time.

Break-in for new driver to get used to 991 GT3 RS rocket ship was tougher. There is just so much car here. I really worry about some of the newer drivers with ego > skill; easy to push over the limit. Car makes you feel like God.

Thanks! Yes, the looks for me is growing as well. It's still big, but I like the front fenders now. The rear black accents and side air intakes still take some getting used to. Good point on the futuristic 911,... it's awesome how the 911 has evolved into this.

Hey! We met quickly @ Sebring in January when I had my meteor grey 7.2 GT3 there. Loved seeing your car in action!

The interior is so nice that I wouldn't put anything inside for fear of wear/tear scratches. Maybe in a bit, but tough to do with a new car right now.

I'll post one that will really make you laugh,... hint: they said the rear wing can withstand serious downforce. I know it can hold 28lbs without any issue.

Thanks! Glad it was a good read.

RL has been a great community and I've learned so much here. Wanted to take some time and give back however I am able to.

Default 991 GT3 RS - first impressions

I'm getting my RS in a month or so: from your experience: what parts needs to be wrapped?

I like your color choice, for some reason :-)

This weekend's NorCal DE Cup was won by a GT4. Who knew horsepower was meaningless? No competition from GT3 RS's, but there were a few 991 GT3s to play with.

I'm kicking myself that I passed on my allocation for the GT4.

It can't be! It has the antiquated manual! Did it have manual crank? Carburetor?

In white, wrap the entire car. Have seen discoloration between wrapped and unwrapped parts on old 7.2 GT3 RS with 20,000 miles. That's probably FL sun as well.

For Silver, LO, and UV, I would wrap: (i) front half of car, everything in front of side mirrors, (ii) side mirrors, (iii) doors, and (iv) bottom rocker panels underneath the side air intakes and before the front of the rear wheels.

Get a premier shop to do a custom job. Have it wrapped around where you can versus almost to the edges. Especially in white. Matters much less for other colors.

I've been working out my left arm the past couple months for giving points as these 991RS start to show up at the track. Car is a beast.

What a great write up and video, enjoyed reading/watching very much!

I got tired of the search for the 7.2, ended up with a nicely optioned 991 c2s. For my first porsche I figure cant go too wrong with that choice. Your RS give me much to aspire to though!

Great review! So it doesn't disappoint!! We were talking about how fast you were going to be with your new rs knowing how good a driver you are and how fast newer drivers are in the 991s. I know you weren't timing but knowing other cars you were passing who were, you're probably 7-8+ sec faster than your old car on your first day out taking it easy. That's crazy!
