Ciao Giuseppe!... could you tell us where you bought the original foam for the inserts? That would make it a lot easier to make several cover sets, and change them as the mood strikes!

The foam inserts can be bought from your OPC (at least here in the U.K.). Swapping the covers over is a 2 min job though so I don’t think necessary
to buy new foam unless you really want to.

Hello

Sorry, yes. OPC = Official Porsche Centre = the parts department at the Porsche dealer.

Regards

Thank you, Mamba. I’ll check with my dealer here if they can order them. I am planning to have custom covers made from fabrics I have found for the LWBs in my 981 Spyder. Will post pics when done.

Cheers,

Claudio

My Inserts from Manthey Racing in Germany came complete with the Porsche Foam and the Pepita/Houndstooth cloth and all the fixing. A 2 minute job to swap over and the original covers and foam are stored away safely. Cost was approx. £2240

Thanks for sharing. I just posted in your other thread before seeing these. Do you know if these are identical to the ones you would get if ordered through CXX as part of a build?

not sure, they are Porsche part numbers on the foam so presume if Manthey are Porsche AG owner then they would be utilising OEM materials

Does anyone know of a supplier of fabric (or inserts) similar in texture to the 911R? From the pictures I've come across, the aftermarket inserts seem to have a more vintage, tight weave. The 911R had a coarse weave which I've read is quite durable and unlikely to pill over time:

Very nice. Those actually look like the Pepita instead of Houndstooth.
