Oh wow, it really is different, darker and greener.
I fear fashionable, cute pops in my mind, doesn't look serious or angry enough for me.
That can change when you see the car in person as you did, plus can't argue color..

I can't explain why purple wouldn't be seen exactly the same, it's like walking around in a clown suit yet it works for me so what do I know...

You will like when you see but Mr. Purple is stellar as well so no downside either way.

Mexico Blue GT4 to be delivered in March 16.

Around the GT3 RS PTS is closed can't get any of the 3 others colors Miami Blue, Black or Yellow, so I went UV.
Expected in May 16.

You are lucky. I believe 'Ultraviolet' will ultimately
be one of the most desirable & memorable colors
for the gt3 RS in Porsche's history. And in value
to collectors & second-hand market, it (ALONE
among all the regular color offerings
) will rival
many of the true PTS colors that we are seeing
now starting to be delivered in the gt3 RS!

A bientôt!

When I say the rest of the world can order PTS, he told me PTS is closed since July!
What is the truth?
Is there any quota for PTS? Worldwide? Per country?
Thanks for your quick input and help!
I ordered a voodoo blue GT3 RS (I have got as well a GT4 mexico blue coming in January)

Bonsoir Eduardo,
Let's see what they do with UV moving forward.
I don't understand why they opened up so quikly LO to the rest of the range and not UV.
Any idea?
Merci!

Bonsoir,

They opened up 'Lava Orange' so quickly because
the Porsche fashionistas decided that was the right
'communication' color for the gt3 RS & a good one
to highlight their .2 991 mid-model facelift. Personally,
I think that was a mistake. Most people that are into
the historic/vintage colors are not that impressed with
'Lava Orange'.

We have received mixed signals about 'Ultraviolet'.
First we got a report that it would be discontinued
after November 2015 gt3 RS production. Then that
it would go on until they finish .1 991 gt3 RS production
in late Spring or early summer of 2016. That is were
you got 'lucky' with your 'UV' order. We had no idea
why they even thought of eliminating it. Was it
warranty issues? Was it low demand? We really
don't know. But I intend to find out if I get the
opportunity to talk to the PTS folks in Germany
later this year.

Finally, we have seen a rather odd development
that appeared in the Nov 17, 2015 PTS approved
list. 'Ultraviolet' was approved as a PTS color on
the.....................................wait for it..............
............................................................Macan!

So that tells me the issues with 'Ultraviolet' that we thought could
be a problem - paint quality, fading, coverage - were in fact NOT
a concern. So the feasibility tests for just about all Porsche models
is apparently all done for 'Ultraviolet'. Thus, it would not surprise
me if some customer requests 'UV' for PTS on the .2 991 or 718 &
it gets approved. We will have to wait & see if that develops. But
the handwriting seems to be already on the wall - we will see more
of 'Ultraviolet' than in just the limited numbers of .1 991 gt3 RS!

Saludos,
Eduardo

Here is a 997 4.0 in Deep Sea Blue, color code A5G. It does not appear to be the same color.

And this 'Meerblau' at night!

This 991 gt3 RS at Paul Miller looks like a different blue to me. And it
might even be a 'Metallic'...hard to tell from these photos!

Why don't we simply ask Izaac Brook to go back & ask them at
Paul Miller the exact color & color code for their PTS RS?
