Can you imagine a few rainy dirty track days with silver belts and cushions?

Bubble wrappers don't drive in the rain.

Either the exposure is too much or those seat inserts are not GT Silver. They would look darker. You do have a good point about dirty seats.

This must have been day one early sessions with the GT3 as after two incidences with journalists in the morning of the first day on the track they mad ESC+TC ON mandatory! Im not sure if he is a good driver or not but he seemed a little bit nervous and the car was constantly correcting. He acclaimed the PCCBs on the car but it was wearing steel brakes, but I guess that's an easy mistake to make when you are sweating bullets driving and talking.

Watching the Walter Rohl lap on the same circuit today it was totally opposite. He was very smooth and relaxed.

I think the tricky thing with this car will be learning the nature of aero. One minute you are dicing corners at 150kmph+ sticking to the ground with 200+kg hand of god next you enter a 80kmph tight right hander and the hand of go weights 70kg. You need to learn to accommodate for this. Anyone raced with aero will know this takes time and learning in the car to be really confident and fast. It certainly caught a few motor noters out.

Its going to be a bit of a hairy ride for the novice pushing on but its nice to finally have a diversion from the "PDK is boring", this car doesnt have hydraulic steering thing.

One thing I wouldnt option is the white coloured bucket seat inserts. Not unless you want to wear a nappy on your first fast lap out there! Good to see they made the car hairy again. I might have to spray the rear tyres of my GT3 with a can of WD40 before I go out against one of these to see if I can emulate the adrenalin ride!

... yeah, bring back Sutcliffe.

Rather conflicting info and opinions on whether the RS is a modest or large upgrade over the GT3. And I think the design of the track has something to do with this guy finding the car to be a bit of a handful.

Yeah. Steve was a good driver too (could keep Monkey Harris honest on track for sure)!

Im scoring around 50/50 at the moment too over 9 interviews of read, watched or translated. Of my two most respected journalists one is in each camp. It would seem to me its little different on road other than size and placement (infact most surprised how compliant it is - so seems to be similar to base GT3 on the road) but on a fast track such as BB where the launch was (this track is long too and has some excellent straights and fast speed Ss) the car is definitely trickier to immediately master but quite clearly more capable than the 991 GT3 whom most put a hot lap on within a session. Loosing a couple of cars off the track at a press release will help make for cult status I reckon :-)

even when it's dry, just checking tyre pressures after/before each session results in dirty hands which inevitably touch the interior trim everywhere. gotta be black interior for trackcar imo.

^ Ain't that bad. I did the math vs. the RS and the two are in neighboring zip codes at worst, particularly when the goal is laptimes...

Either that, or I'm in utter denial

Consumables are in the same ballpark. Cup is cheaper on the buy, but the vaseline comes out at rebuild time...

Yeah, but Rohrl was loafing.

Only guy laying down a serious lap so far was Bergmeister in the Pete Stout video, but I believe that you need a facebook account to view: (https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/por...53314286613430)

AFAIC, all the rest of the reviews so far are pretty low on critical analysis; a bunch of journos taking what Porsche is spoon feeding them and rehashing for copy. Not that they're not entertaining.

Agreed. The real bump in running a Cup is support and transport, plus the sequential box when you move to 997. Engine is a push unless you lock yourself into PMNA pricing because you want to keep the car GTC legal. All other consumables are apples to apples, all else held constant.
