Great write up. Back in 1973 (I was 16) my father had a 911T and a friend/colleague owned a 246 Dino. He let my father and I take it for a drive and I recall my father saying the Dino was a real work out compared to his 911. I thought the 911 was amazing but the Dino was pure sex. I think the Dino was twice the price of the 911T or close to that.

Thank you for the in depth review/comparison of these two beauties. The one word that comes to mind from your analysis is "Respect", they seem to both deserve it.

Fantastic write-up. Thank you.
I hope you keep both. They will each make you feel good in their own way, at the appropriate time.
I plan to get a Speciale alongside the others and your write-up confirms my original thoughts.
Cheers!

Excellent review, my thoughts on the 991 GT3 are similar to yours. Goes to show that cars can be comparably great, but in different ways, so it may not make sense to 'rank' cars which are comparably good (as the car magazines routinely do). At a certain point, you pick a flavor of ice cream to enjoy or, ideally, enjoy multiple flavors of ice cream.

Thanks guys... I haven't had a chance to capture any really good photos of either yet. But here is one of each, captured on their respective delivery days. The GT3 is Basalt Black, and the 458S is Grigio Ferro, a Ferrari Historic color.

Well if you tire of the Speciale, I am sure you can sell it for a premium. Your color choice is as low key as you can get for a Ferrari. Imagine the increased unwanted attention in red or yellow. Great review. Thanks for sharing...

Thanks, yes I agree regarding the NART blue stripe. I especially don't like how it extends beyond the hood, and onto the top of the front bumper. It doesn't look right. I like how the black stripes disappear into the hood scoops.

Concur will all, great review. I have a 2014 458 tuned and a GT3 and everything you said is spot on with what I feel with my 458 vs the GT3. I cant imagine what a Speciale feels like but hope to drive one in the near future to get a better perspective. The GT3 really is that daily race car for the street; I just have no issues hopping in and going down the to market or bank or whatever. The 458, let alone a Speciale, is an "Event".
