Unfortunately, you do need to do that with little ones so they don't bang their heads. But yes, I agree with that one.

Also avoid parking next to Coupes. There doors are always larger than a sedan.

+1

I prefer to park a mile away. And the walk is good for your health...

I got dinged in my Honda and I park in accessible parking spaces with 4' of hashed out area on both sides. People suck!

I do drive the call pretty much everywhere, and just take the time to find a safe spot. Usually, far away, and somewhere protected on at least one side (end of row of spaces near island, up against a wall, a larger space (no, not accessible spot), BUT NEVER, take up two spots - that is an invitation for someone to deliberately mark up your call. Oh, if at night, under well lit area, and if at hotel usually where I can see it.

Thanks for staying out of the accessible parking spots. With the over fed people all over the place, those spots are hard to come by. I'm guaranteed never to get one if I'm trying to park around a cheesecake factory.

One of the other major dangers in these types of parking places, are landscape sprinkler systems. Talk about hard water spots. More of an early morning issue or overnight, when they cycle.

I would move back from Reno Nevada to Southern California where people keep mind of parking properly. Reno is the ding Capital of the world coming from someone who was born and raised in Southern California; where car is king!

This happened to me a few times. Looks like my p-cars attract the worst cars in the parking lot. Lucky, I never got a ding or dent. Fingers crossed!

You know, the irony is that people who park in the center of two spots (I've never done this) are considered "douchebags," but realistically, it is douchebags that teach them to park like that.

People just don't respect other people's property/cars. Don't dig my door. Don't scratch my car. Don't touch my car. Don't brush your bag against it, or knock my mirror with your torso.

I care for everyone else's car the same way, even if it was a 1900 Toyota Camry.

Is it too much to ask?

(Wait, yes it is. Sadly.)

Don't worry...there's a special level of hell for door dingers

Can't stand parking my car anywhere in public...always searching for an edge or corner spot where idiots can't open their doors without regard

I have to deal with this type of parking in my garage:

I sense that you have parked across two spaces before. True?

Never, ever.

I've considered it before, but instead, I just drove off and decided not to park there (or go to whatever location I was trying to find parking for in the first place).

It's amazing how much we do to keep our cars free from dings and scratches!
I recognize myself in a lot of these situations you describe. My wife thinks I'm crazy when we park 1/2 mile from the entrance to the mall or when we only take the 993tt to restaurants were I know the valet and they let me park it outside the front door!
