I just spoke with my dealer's GM, he told me allocation numbers are based on his 911 sales. According to him, the formula works out for two RS allocations. He got the first one last week for an October build. He said he will know if I have a build by early May....so it looks like winter delivery for me again...as long as I get a car. Fingers crossed.

My dealer told me they get 3, last production date December and that's it. Production stops?! I asked for later allocation PTS and he said there is no later allocation...

Thanks for the information. I also want to order a PTS car, and my build slot is for November.

Is it more likely for PTS to be open at the beginning or end of production historically?

Forewarning, the following is most likely very simple but I honestly forgot to ask these questions while I was at the dealership today. So I turn to the community.

Can someone tell me the real world steps of buying a yet to be built P-car in language outside of the Porsche code system (e.g., deposit to order to delivery)? For instance, I was notified of my allocation the other day so I put down the deposit today and was told by the Finance & Sales Manager that they most likely won't know the build date until Jun/Jul. What usually happens between deposit and build date notification? Would I formally spec the car when I get the build date?

You can spec the car now and formalize your build before it locks in. It's fun!

Once you enter your build you get a build date. Unless you get a piece of paper saying you are V200 build date certain you don't have an allocation.
