Default Unpleasant moment with Porsche dealer in Chicago

If necessary I'll post the name of the dealer later.

My dealer told me that Porsche has kind of policy that I need to make the payment within a period of time after the car arrives. The estimated arrival time of my GT3 is 3/25/2015, and on Monday, 3/2/2015, my sales consultant called me that my car has arrived. Yesterday, I sent back the new signed purchase agreement include some extra fee like clear bar. Today, 3/6/2015, someone from that dealer who I believe is a finance manager send me an email says

"You have 48 hours to complete transaction. I need you to wire the money. When will your funds be available?".

Really? Based on my experience, dealer would struggled if I don't make the payment at the end of this Month, but 48 hours? Really?

I had a good experience when ordering my car with the sales consultant, but the finance manager.....

This dealer should not let their finance manager talk to their customers any more because he is a trouble maker.

BTW, while I'm typing this, the finance manager send me another email

"Can you start process today and email me proof that you have started the international wire. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you"

Thank you for your advise. I have complained about it to my salesman.

I had a similar issue. My car was expected to arrive March 6th, but came early Feb 25th. I had not begun moving funds around and it would take 3-4 days. I also wished to hear news on the RS before I committed the full payment. Dealer pressured me to complete sale before the end of the month, insinuating that they would sell the car to another customer and that I would lose my deposit if the deal was not completed before March 1st.

It left a very bad taste in my mouth. I would imagine/hope there is a section on the survey on if the dealership pressured me in any way.

Mine arrived at Davisville on 9/29. My dealer in Boston asked me if I would wire the funds and close the deal on the 30th so he could book it as a Sept. sale. In return, he offered to pay the Intercity freight to FL. $1495.00 ; I agreed. The car was in Boston on 10/1, loaded on Intercity 10/4 and delivered to me on Longboat Key on 10/8.

Go through the salesman first. He is getting heat from the management. A lot. Then go the GM route. The salesman is happy he has a GT3 sale, but the stress involved from the higher ups sometimes is overwhelming, for these special cars. If it were a another Porsche model, no heat would be felt.

The only person I've dealt with at Westmont was Paul and he was always straight up. Can't speak for the rest.

Agree - Sitting with the GM is the best thing to do, I would also let the Finance guy you don't appreciate his tactics and will be sure to review that with the GM when you speak.

PCNA really does care, and the threat of complaining and opening a case with them will concern the GM.

Take your business to the Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, IL - nothing but good experiences with them and they have earned my loyalty. Heck, they have never taken, nor requested a deposit on any of the Porsches I have bought. When they told me I would get a GT3 it was done. Nothing in writing ect. When is was time to build it they called me to come in and build it with them.
