Holy crap...glad Norway doesn't have stagnant wages like here in the US...

The taxes could buy a fully loaded GT3 here in the US...

Doesn't the 918 owner have to take delivery? You will be double taxed if this happens. Maybe it's different in Norway.

Yes, the speed limit on country roads are 80 kph, and there are many roads with only 70 and 60 kph limits. On our motorways the speed limit is 100 kph, but last year the speed limit was raised to 110 on some of the best stretches!

Speeding tickets are as you probably can guess also high in Norway. In addition there is a very strict point system, which means you lose your license for 6 months if you are caught driving 21 kph over the speed limit three times within three years.

But it is still possible to have fun driving in Norway. There is very little police off the main roads, and there are many small roads that are enjoyable to drive on.

And I live pretty close to two racetracks that regularly have track days, but they have very strict noise limits. So for example all new Ferraris are too loud, but Porsches are luckily not too loud And if the goal is no speed limits, I can be in Germany within 7 hours.

So for me its definitely not pointless owning fast and fun cars. Have much fun driving them even in Norway, and I need a new car to out accelerate out one of Norway's best selling cars, the Tesla Model S Which they have now started to deliver the P85D version of to Norwegian customers.

Yes, he must take delivery. But taxes follows the car in all European countries I know of. The 918 owner lives in Sweden and will get the car delivered ready for export. So when he pick it up, he will pay for the car without taxes, and I will have to pay all the taxes when I take it in to Norway.

If you want you can have it registered on me (here in Sweden).

You can even store it in my garage if you want.

And I can drive it down to Nürburg when you say so.

No problemo!

Fred. The 991 GT3 is boarder line (loudness) for many race tracks in UK and a few in USA. The Certificate of Conformity lists the db at 4000rpm as 96db IIRC. You may want to ask PAG what the COC reads for noise for GT3RS at 4000rpm to ensure you will pass your track noise tests. The 991 GT3 was one of the first production porsches from recent times to become loud enough for this to be an issue. Im thinking with titanium centre muffler and large side intakes making induction noise the RS could be 0.5db louder at 4000 rpm. Of course depends if they measure static or at the boundary etc. Just a thought....

Fredrik! Congrats on the new RS! Seems like you will have a fun summer! We should try to get a Scandinavian RL meet together this summer? Gothenburg might be a good location? Will make it easier for you guys from Norway. I spend the summers in southern Sweden so it's only a 3 hour drive.
Gelleråsen would work as well. I haven't driven that track in years.

Fun track and with F1 history! I would love to take the 4.0 out there! Will be fun to see the 1RS this summer! And obviously all the 1.3s that was parked last summer due to stop sale.
We need Mooty to come over and organize it for us! Lol!

As I have mentioned in another thread, it is not me personally who ordered it. It's my friend who owns a early 918, but he doesn't wont a GT3 without a manual transmission. So he has given his allocation to me, so I will probably get one of the first cars.

I have chosen Lava Orange, black wheels and black/orange leather interior. Have also ordered orange seat belts and orange roll cage.

Full spec:
Lava Orange
Black/Lava Orange leather interior
