Don't get me wrong the GT3 is an awesome car, especially for the money....but there's still no question on what keys I'm grabbing on a beautiful summer day.....IMO there's absolutely no better sound than a Ferrari V8 at 8-9K rpm's.....

Here's a similar thread..... https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3/...g-the-gt3.html
Agreed. I actually also at one point had my 458 in my garage along with my 4.0. That was epic. The 4.0 was the most exciting 911 anything I have ever owned or drive, including the 991 GT3, but it was a single purpose car for short bursts of awesomeness, and involving a lot of inputs from the driver.

For pure driving fun 10 minutes at a time (street or track) , I would pick the 4.0 over the 458, but never the 991 GT3 over a 458.

Very different cars. I think the GT3 would be easier to drive around the track fast than the 458...in highly skilled hands, I think the 458 would win. It's a big Hp/torque differential between it and the GT3. The emotional/visceral experience one gets driving a 458 paticularly on street is unmatched compared to the GT3. The sound, the feel tingles the senses.

If you have never driven a 458 go drive one and see if it lights you up. I have owned one for 3 years and it always feels like a special occasion.

I love 911's and have owned many but it's not a Ferrari.

First, thanks for reforesting an old thread back to the forefront.

I'm not going to opine about "skilled hands", but can comment about mine. As you can see from my Avatar, I had a '14 458 that I put 1700 track miles at different tracks before I sold it a couple months ago. (Waiting for my Speciale, if it ever gets out of port inspection?????)

Here's my feeling… NOTHING beats the GT3 on track. NOTHING.

I regret tracking my 458 so much and wish I would have saved some of the miles taking my wife to dinner. The very few times I actually drove the 458 on the street were fantastic for all the reasons a Ferrari is a Ferrari is a Ferrari.

However, on track compared to the GT3, my 458 lost power lap over lap. Shifts became extremely sluggish when hot and I even COMPLETELY lost brakes when I wore my pads down too low and apparently boiled my fluid with the ceramic brakes (well before I should have had to replace pads vs. steel rotors and pads on the GT3.)

I'd street my 458 all day long over the GT3. Track the GT3 all day long over the 458.

The Speciale???? I guess, I'll let you all know in a few weeks hopefully...

Default Speciale recall??

My Speciale order is in "status 90" and has been for well over a month and still stuck there.

Learned that it was held up at port due to faulty airbag?

Even after release, I understand still have to wait on dealer to replace?

Anyone know by chance how long this can all take? Summer is basically on the back end? I'll be able to pick this up only to store it for winter?

Sold a 2012 458 Italia to get a 2015 GT3.

I miss the 458 in certain aspects (sound, looks, led steering wheel) etc.. but the GT3 is a better car for ME. I babied the F car and I DRIVE the GT3 a bunch more in 5 months of ownership than I did the 458 in a years time
