Default SAT Radio

I was just curious how many people got the satellite radio option. Apparently the antenna is on top of the center of roof which could be a mild eye sore. I have the SAT radio on my Boxster but I never reactivated it as I only listen to SAT radio on very long commutes or trips.

Due the box that is glued to the roof, XM was a deal breaker for me. That and it sounds like crap.

I did not order it. You can get an App on your phone for satellite radio and play it through the Bluetooth set up.

Bump is aweful, excluded from my build as well. XM is ok for an extended distance trip rather than hunting FM stations, but I usually just download an audiobook.

No SAT with Wart for me. The dealer even offered to pay for it to help resale value possibly in the future. I like the clean roof line without it. Plus, I use Pandora and iTunes Radio now. If I am in a remote area without cell service, I could always plug in a mobile Sat Radio. If it were a DD for me, I may reconsider and deal with the wart.

Sound quality from Sat sounds like Real Media audio from the 90s. I can see how you'd want it for talk shows or something, but using it for music is not possible.

I too am not liking the roof "wart." so I checked with dealer and they told me that the roof "wart" was required for satallite radio AND PCM navagation. Not having the Sat radio is possible but no nav is a problem. I know I can get nav on my phone but reading maps and directions from the PCM is much easier and safer.

I'm assuming you really couldn't remove the SAT receiver (wart) because then there would be a hole in the roof for the cable?

Sat radio in all my cars sounds great. Not sure why others have trouble with the quality

Under the "wart " is cable hole + screw that holds it down from underneath.

This should be pretty representative....they come as a replacement part in primer - painted before install if you have a defective one.
