Have you checked out Waze? Basically crowd sources traffic info and will update your routes based on traffic reports and incoming beacons.

WAZE has saved me from more tickets than j can count. Nothing beats the accuracy of crowdsourced notifications. Life saver

Any radar detectors out there that can integrate WAZE information into their own detection system? Sounds like that would be the ultimate way to go.

So if you use streaming audio like Pandora can you manage that through the PCM screen or are you stuck with the phone screen. Does having the "on line services" option help this issue? Does the "on line services" option trigger the "wart" placement?

Although the album, track, and running time info from Pandora shows up on the PCM screen, all of the actual controls have to be managed from the phone itself.

I don't know much about the online services option. On my wife's BMW i3 a similar interface does allow you to connect to your phone via an app that then let's you manage Pandora and other web based programs direct from the iDrive screen, which is pretty cool. It would be nice if Porsche's option offered similar features.

Aha is pretty bad on my C4S. You can select from a list of stations that you can add on the app, which is a little dated in design. Every time you plug in the phone it fires the thing up, regardless of anything else you may have been doing.

It will let you search Google for locations when routing on the PCM, but I never use the PCM for directions anyway. Too much traffic on the standard routes.

Took it off my build too, no warts anywhere and I use the content on XM less and less, replaced by online music.

If you don't have xm, does the nav get traffic updates or have traffic?

Online services suck. Best feature is Google location search but it's super clunky to use. (Cayenne has same system) aha used it once. Drops constantly. Pandora plays fine. Apple radio is fine. The skip button works on PCM for these.

No. Traffic and weather come through the XM receiver.

I wouldn't trust real-time traffic data coming through the satellite radio feed anyway. I'd defer to live data to my phone for that.

I'm ok with the wart, but I don't understand why it can't be hidden somewhere. It is in the mirrors on a Corvette, why couldn't they do something similar here?

Phone is much better. For those of you who have not experienced the porsche XM traffic... it's "OK" Keep in mind I live in LA and we have pretty good traffic feed systems here (they aren't always red despite popular belief....) But it is nowhere near as good as a google maps, apple maps, waze, or the various radio signal systems like my 2013 bmw. It only covers major highways, not major surface streets. And the updates seem pretty infrequent. Anyway, the porsche system is usable, not great. I do like the nav system (outside the traffic) better than my BMW.

the bump is ugly, but to me, that shouldn't be the deciding factor.... its simple - if you will daily drive the car, you should get SAT, I would never be without it on a daily driver... but if the GT3 is a track or weekend toy, no need. I asked my dealer about resale, and he said on any other 911, he would strongly recommend getting it, but for the GT3, he didn't think it matters. I remain convinced that we have a very high % daily driving this car on Rennlist vs. the broader public. It takes cojones to daily drive a car with a huge wing on the back and no backseats, I think its awesome!

Were the dealers lips moving?
