Really excited to find out how my GT3 will perform compared to my 2011 BMW E92M3 (with aero, BBK, KW CS and 285 RS3 square). 1,900 break-in miles to go.....

What sort of lap times are GT3s getting in CA tracks these days?

The manual says under 4500 rpm for 2000 miles.

Word from my friend at Porsche Motorsport is keep the engine under 7K for the first 4-500 miles then step up revs gradually until 800 miles by which time the car as whole should be broken in.

FWIW, I've kept mine under 5K RPM for the first 750, under 7k from 750-1000, and am beginning to extend from there. Compromise.

Does BW = Big Willow? IF so, it's more commonly abbreviated as WSIR. BW usually = Buttonwillow. If I'm off base, that may be the fastest time at Buttonwillow I've ever seen!

I got the following times on my two favorite So Cal tracks...

Chuckwalla CW - 2:00.1 (NT01s/RAs)
Chuckwalla CW - 1:57.3 (R6s)
Buttonwillow 13CW - 1:57.7 (NT01s/RA1s...haven't run BW with R6s yet)
Buttonwillow 1CW - 2:03.2 (NT01s/RA1s)

Can't wait to get out to Buttonwillow in the fall/winter and that new surface.

Hi, Since I'm moving from Chicago to North LA in Oct, I think Willow is the best bet??? Please advise.. I'm going to hit the Calif Superbike School at 'Streets of Willow' in Sept (Laguna Seca is sold out) .. but since this might be my new track, it could be a good thing.. Cant wait..

Chuckwalla has the smoothest flowing track in So Cal and Buttonwillow is super fun and just got fully repaved. I'm not a big fan of Big Willow and Streets of Willow.

Streets surface is a bit of a hot mess but it's easy to get to and very technical as far as corner layout etc. I always have fun when I am there. Certainly you aren't going to get crazy high speed like big willow but still lots of elevation change. Personally Laguna Seca is my favorite, but it's a long way from LA ...unless you get someone to trailer your car up for you and then just fly into Monterrey airport...then its time wise closer than Streets...just sayin

Welcome back to the West Coast. You will get to enjoy your GT3 all year around. I was stuck in O'hare airport for past 36 hrs due to sever thunderstorms and my flight was cancelled. I don't think I can ever live in Chicago. Mark
