So to your point, wringing every last second and tenth out of that track is tough. The thing I hate is that when it bites it bites HARD. Big difference of spinning off track at riverside at button willow vs turn-8-9 or turn 2-3 at big willow. I like streets a lot. Fun track, just a little short. I think my favorites though down south are button willow and chuckwalla.
WSIR courses are definitely not as forgiving as BRP. Lot's of BIG rocks and ditches at runoffs! I've seen too many cars flip there.:-(

Buttonwillow is my favorite SoCal track by a wide margin. When I make a mistake, I still have fun the rest of the lap. At Streets, the lap feels short enough that making a mistake seems to ruin it all.

Going off at Streets is not safe in most locations either. Too many ditches.

Word from my friend at Porsche Motorsport is keep the engine under 7K for the first 4-500 miles then step up revs gradually until 800 miles by which time the car as whole should be broken in.

FWIW, I've kept mine under 5K RPM for the first 750, under 7k from 750-1000, and am beginning to extend from there. Compromise.

TEHO.

My dealer said under 7000 rpm for 1500 mi, but actually they said that is conservative and in reality 1200 mi enough

Lar,

BRP continues to get faster and faster, especially this time of year with cooler weather and a lot of rubber having been laid down on the track. We are seeing incredibly fast times now, and it is hard to gauge what are benchmark times. A 1:55 might be the 2:00 before the repave.

I think a stock 991GT3 with a competent driver will be sub 153's and recently, a stock McLaren MP4 with a pro driver did a 150. So, a sub 150 with a pro driver is possible in the GT3.

I believe even for an intermediate skilled driver a 1:53 is definitely doable. It's just an amazing (cheater) platform.:-)
