Personal messages from F. Piech saying they are STILL working on it as quickly as they can? Daily progress reports on how the investigation is proceeding? I mean, that would be great, but I suspect it won't get my car on the road any sooner.

Unless I think Porsche are dragging their heels and honestly don't care about all the negatives surrounding this situation (something no rational person could possibly believe), then unhappy as I may be, I don't see any alternative to being patient.

If someone has a practical, potentially effective suggestion as to something I can do to get back in the driver's seat more quickly, I'd love to hear it. I'm not above whining, but it has to have a reasonable chance of accomplishing something.
Mike, I havent driven my 997.2 GT3 for over week now due to all the rain so you probably wouldn't drive it anyway

I've never seen it before. Is it readily available in your region? The best vodka is one you can buy at your local store.

Definitely more regional at the moment but worth asking your local liquor store whether they could order.

True enough, silverrules. If it had been good driving weather these past couple of weeks, I'd be coming out of my skin about now, instead of just being roundly annoyed.

An excuse letter and extended warranty is probably as good as you'll get.

The worst part is the resale value for the 991 GT3 is already being hit. I could see people avoiding the 2014 GT3 just because of this. In 4-5-6 years, people looking for a used GT3 will likely avoid the bad batch of 2014 and get the 2015 model. Not everyone is well educated.

Best of luck to all concerned. It sucks to pay for Porsche's R&D on top of the price of the car.
If "down the road" the 2014 GT3 is still in one piece and has miles on it, why would it matter there were some cars that had an issue? It would be obvious that one does not have an issue and if there was a fix that is applied to all vehicles I wouldn't expect there to be much of an issue.

Let's just say car requires total engine swap. So what happens to the bad engines? Do they get refurbished and go to 2015 models or it's secondary engines incase it's needed. What's the policy with existing models. Also with regards to total engine swap ie completely new motor- is odometer reset? Mike

If it's just a parts problem than no big deal down the road for these cars but if it's a design flaw than the 2014 GT3 could see being avoided in the used car market.

E46m3 survived two major engine recalls and car is worth more now then when I sold mine in 2009. BMW gave owners a 6 year 100k engine warranty on recalled cars, it was the right answer to silence the critics.
Porsche should follow this example...

At this point Porsche better offer an extended warranty. If I have to sit and listen to my dealer selling me their f**** extend warranty and using this issue I will be calling Porsche North America and canceling my order.
