What will be interesting is if they will even run another campaign of 2015 GT3s. I am not talking about the reclassified 2014 cars to 2015. I know my Dealer is weary and therefore they will not take a deposit. If there is no more that will hit the market and they jump right in to the RS would not that be a surprise

I had a similar convo with my dealer on Saturday. Obviously those who cancelled the 14's and ordered a new 15 will get priority over the rest of us who placed a deposit for allocation. There will not be enough 15's to go around and by late 16 you will see the facelift. What a train wreak this has become.

Doubt they will kill off GT they just got back Into racing. That was a big decision and it all ties together with their performance line of cars.

I know a couple of people who tried to cancel their 2014 for a 2015 and they were told that they could not get a 2015. That quite a few 2015 slots were taken by the reclassified 2014s. Therefore, any new 2015 allocations will be fewer than originally planned. This will help protect us 2014 people, which is one bright spot - if there is one.

Agreed. "Bright" is also relative at this point, IMO.

Mike, in my discussion with PCNA I was told technicians from Germany would be sent to do the installs. In discussing PDI/port capabilities with my service manager, he indicated that the port (San Diego) has the capability to do installs. Regarding special equipment, some of that can be brought with them. That said, nothing is itched in stone.

I rather have my swap done at the port. The folks coming down from Germany probably have done a few hundred of these engines compared to our lonely technician that has yet to touch a 991. PAG MAY ask for the cars to be hauled to the Port for the swap. It only makes sense. Can you imagine the factory installers going from one dealer to another? Think about it. Another update in 2-3 weeks.

Does anyone have confirmation that the first engines have been shipped and ready to be installed? It would be exciting to see new 991 GT3 vids again on Youtube to help with the wait.

Several folks have been told that engine production did indeed begin...

No one has commented on engines actually being shipped or swapped yet though.

Btw, some members at PistonHeads are reporting that early UK cars may be back on the road by end if May.

All conjecture until an owner comes out to say, "My car is scheduled for [insert date]." But, I'm sure hoping that real dates start floating out there soon.

Yep.. Spoke with several dealers. None of them know about 2015 allocations, and PCNA said GO FISH when I asked about swapping my 2014 for a 2015.

Given PAG's attitude to its own deadlines, I'd say it's all conjecture until someone posts a pic of their car back on the road. Not long now though - we've got something to get excited about again.

Great news for Cat A owners in the UK today regards compensation. They have been finally offered a realistic package. We have also been told that air fright schedules for the engines are being compiled currently and will be disseminated to global distributors this week which will then likely be communicated to dealers and to customers.

However like others have said here I too agree that until we see the first cars back on the road we wont feel its real!
