weird that PCNA claim its still available ... maybe there is still time to spec one after all!

re: the deposit, they are afraid that you spec spec PTS then back out leaving them with a potential challenging sale ... (depends on the color you choose!)

Perhaps you can spec one, but it won't get built & painted until MY15

That sounds feasible. PTS window opens in late spring, august MY2015 build, etc.

Gulf will be pretty sweet. Congrats

My dealer took a deposit for "PTS no problem".

I'm skeptical but I signed up. I asked for Sport Buckets; he said it should be available.

Honestly I don't believe a word of it until the build is locked in and waiting production. There's a lot of variables at play in production, plus the whole Euro 6 thing.

I dunno. Some of these vintage colors just don't translate to the 991 for me. The 991 body style is modern and requires a crisp modern color IMO.

'Gulf Blue' has always been, to me, a difficult color on a 911. Personally, I don't think it has enough presence by itself to pull it off...unless you mix in 'Gulf Orange' bits with it! Yet 'Gulf Blue' has been a popular PTS option on all versions of the 911 for many years.

I think there are many other 'crisp' colors, although not necessarily 'modern', which would show off the 991 lines to good effect. Those hues includes many of the historic early 911 colors like 'Signal Yellow', 'Viper Green', 'Gulf Orange', 'Tangerine' and 'Signal Green'! My dos centavos, for what it's worth.

Saludos,
Eduardo

I agree with Eduardo. It's a great color but seems to work better with other stripes or graphics where the Gulf is a bit of a canvas. I love all of the early 70s vintage colors Eduardo mentions. As to blues, Riviera and Mexico are more "robust" and may carry better on a 991. Voodoo Blue looks pretty good to. Check with Larry Cable. I think he painted everything he owns a shade of Porsche blue and is the resident expert.

Here's my 991 Turbo S, which just arrived last week. I'm very happy with the way it turned out - the Sport Classic wheels and ceramic brakes really worked out well in terms of contrast.Name: IMG_0565.jpeg
