From the looks of the market, any 991 GT3 that gets driven on the track will have a different look ... because all the others will be overladen with dealer gouge options and getting flipped on eBay ...

This is for ZEDCAT hope he reads this thread. I got on momentum's list a few months back and just recently told I was number 4 on the list. They also told me they have received two allocations so far. So who's number 4 I really dont know anymore what to think. I called my rep last friday to see whats up or just move to some other project and still waiting for a phone call back and I have already purchased three cars from them in a short period of time so a returned phone call is not much to ask.

My problem is not as much as waiting for a GT3 its the whole game that Porsche and the dealers want to play with us of total uncertainty.

They are going to sell them anyway so I guess its useless to get upset.

Hi toplabels, who knows, they may tell everybody they're number 4. Agree their communication on returning calls/emails is weak. I've only bought one car from them but still not returning calls is poor form. To be honest I was on the fence about the car because I wanted a 6 speed but did put a deposit down. Also not in a rush so that possibly buckets will be available. If it all unravels I'll start looking at 7-3s. Last email I had from them claimed they didn't have allocations yet. I'm sure that's BS, but they are part of a group- Sonic and that includes I think 4 or 5 dealerships. Maybe they pool the allocations at the group level before individual dealers. Anyway I decided not to stress over it. Hope it works out for all of us. Cheers

The allocation and uncertainty game sucks. I really want to buy locally, but... I do not want to be left out until Q4-14 either...

Why can't the local deal just take firm deposits, say where you are in line and let it be... I'm on the "list" but nothing definite. I'm a previous buyer and local so am told I will be given priority, but no idea what that means. No build date.

I had to buy my RS5 out of state. What a headache, but I did end up with one of the first in the country. That dealer still follows up, but unfortunately, they are not (or affiliated with) a Porsche dealer... eeerrrr

Most dealers are doing exactly that; they took a deposit and let you know where you stood on the list. That's what mine did. Sounds like yours has chosen to do business differently....not good.

Yes, as you can see in Canada we pay about $20K more for a GT3 than our brothers to the south..

MSRP is $130,400.
PCCBs are $9,210.
Where'd you get pricing?
https://www.google.com/finance?q=USDCAD
Currency would suggest a trivial 4% - 6% exchange slip
Does Porsche Canada not "recognize" the Porsche North America business and pricing?
I'm sure this is an old, old issue; I've been watching cars cross the border back and forth since the 90's, but I had assumed things would be more equitable by now.

Guys, I had previously called and emailed a rep at Momentum off of 59 a couple of weeks back, and other than the email I had mentioned in another post, they were very slow out of the gate. I had also called North, who was MUCH more responsive, so last weekend I drove up and dropped off a check to get on the list. I was told that I was 12th on, and that they expected to get 8 allocations through 2014.

This last Tuesday, the guy from Momentum called, and I told him that I would drop by after work. I did not get a good vibe sitting across from him. He had a very difficult time keeping focused, let alone looking me in the eye. I was told that they also expected 8 cars through 2014, but that their list was only 6 people deep. Their price was $2,500 which is insignificant in the greater scheme of things. I left with the feeling he was full of sh*t, and for all I know, he might have thought the same.

I have had a couple of M3's from Momentum, and didn't have the best experiences. After thinking about it, I think there's probably a good reason why North's list is a bit longer, and I'm going to stay with them.

Just my $.02
