Regarding Macca's post above, I've been thinking this but didn't want to say it. Unless you have locked up the first build this Q4, or are number 1 or 2 next year with a deposit, you will not get a new car. There are probably no allocations left in the country by what I read and see in my area.
Doesn't seem like that will be a problem though, given that few here are interested in owning one given the crappy car Porsche decided to build.

I'm #2 on my dealer's list and he's saying middle of next year is probably the best-case scenario. What's the deal, Porsche spent all this time and money developing the car, and now they don't want to sell it to everyone who wants one? I can say this, the existence of the GT3 will prevent me from buying any other 991, so maybe I won't buy any 991.
Just buy a nice 997

Since it would be awkward for Mike to respond, I defend his right to post as much as he wants about the GT3. Yes, he's excited, but he provides a ton of useful and accurate information. He's also polite and tactful which makes his posts a pleasure to read.

I wish I had more of those... It's a free country and he can post as much as he wants. All I'm saying is that he's taking over the 991 board with his "I like white one day, then I like red the next day..." and THAT I find boring....just stating a fact. Maybe he could find some offline friends to "cool" his excitement?

Actually to be honest, I'm just tired of seeing about a dozen "Mike in CA" posts every day. As an engineer, don't you have anything better to do than posting your ever increasing "heightened" excitement about a new car? Come on...
Even though I'm not very interested in the new GT3 I still like to be kept up to date but these Mike posts are getting to me...
Maybe I just need to stick to the 997 forum...

LOL! Yip. Lasted 13 pages with a title including "Purists get ready" not bad.
Must say Mikes always been respectful. Im looking forward to meeting him one day.
The more we see of this car the more I think it will silence the mass detractors. Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course...

If someone's truly rude, they should stop posting. Otherwise, let the discussion/debate follow its natural course, with people saying whatever they want. I agree that Mike is always respectful, even when he's getting pummeled.

WTF! Mike's posts are intelligent, informative and most importantly civil. Those of us who are getting the 991GT3 look forward to his posts. Since you have no interest in the new GT3 why would you attack someone who is providing important information to the rest of us?
