Handy if you get caught in the snow too.

Thanks but again I don't get it, my GT3 is not a DD and is not for anyone else than me to drive it so I deal with unfriendly access. Never broke a lip for ± 10 years, brushed it a few times though!

You just saved some pocket change then. I'll probably skip it too.

I live on the side of a hill and have a steep driveway. Regardless of how I angle the car my Carrera S scrapes slightly at the transition to the street, going both up and down. An even lower GT3 with that extended spoiler would hit every time. Any other situations aside, that's why I need the front axle lift......

How about a thin sheet of Teflon on the bottom of the spoiler? It will still scrape, but won't be tearing anything up.

On my driveway it would be more than just a scrape. Besides how would you get a sheet of Teflon to stick to the front end without risking it flying off under the bottom of the car at speed, especially after it had been nicked up a few times? Seems like it would be a hassle to keep replacing it even under the best of circumstances.

People spend big money to get leather covered air vents and colored stitching, FCOL. That's fine, but I'd rather spend the money so I have some peace of mind with regard to smacking the bottom of my $150K car!

I'm in the same boat as Mike. I will need the front lift just to get into my own driveway. Without the lift, I bet the whole lip would get torn off seven days a week.

My driveway is level with the road, but I worry about getting into some snow. I live in Colorado, and have to go over some mountain passes to get to the tracks.

I totally get that. I'm close to pulling a trigger on a house that has the entire Bay view Google-Earth style. But the flip side is that even a front lift may not be enough with almost a 60 degree angle between the road and the driveway. But even if I have to buy a tow truck to get GT3 the bottom of the hill, I'd still do it. We only live once. If I lived in Florida, I would not bother with the lift though.

Can those with 997 GT3 experience shed some light... Are shopping center speed bumps a problem without the lift?

The lip on my spyder is no issue, but figure the GT3 will sit lower?

Most of my buddies here in Dubai who have the front lift regret getting it for 2 main reasons:

1. It sometimes jams and ceases to work. This might not be the case for the 991 GT3 , but you never know ( one guys has had to take it in 3 times to the workshop)

2. So you pay the cash for the front lift and one day you are driving down a road pretty fast and all of a sudden a speed bump appears that you did not know about and you just do not have time to slow down in time to lift the car before hitting. You end up scraping the lip... You now have a scraped lip and payed extra for the lift and if you are anything like me, will end up replacing the lip after a couple more scrapes. What I'm trying to say is that no matter how careful you are, you will most probably end up scraping that lip at some point more than once, and will replace it. Front lips are cheap. You could probably change them 10 times before you reach the amount the lift kit is.

That's has been there experiences and advice

Cheers
