Mr. Preuninger is obviously defensive and irritated. Fair enough, his product, his vision.

Though down the line - with the development optimization Porsche's got - they would be foolish not to offer the same chassis/engine with a 6MT in a stripped Carrera RS trim. Hey, for the sake of capitalism.

Mike, the PDK in our cars does have the kickdown feature even in manual mode, and once it's engaged the gearbox will upshift at redline. My interpretation of AP's comments, however, is that the new PDK-S works differently and will not kickdown in manual mode and will hit the limiter regardless. Another "wait and see" item....

Edit 5/14: Confirmed, no kickdown, no upshift under any circumstances in manual mode.......

First time I've heard the money shift referred to as a "feature" but maybe you're right. If so, his language is a little confusing since the "computer" isn't doing anything with the throttle, it simply won't allow that money downshift to happen at all.
