That's why I wanted to use this driver as a data point. I'm telling you, he's legit. I get that a lot of times people blow off suggestions like this because the car isnt being driven hard, not driven hard enough, not fast enough, not often enough, blah, blah, etc, etc. That is not the case here. This engine has proved itself for hardcore DE use in this particular case.

Trakcar, honestly, not big on collecting lap times. Could do +/- 2:28 in the Spyder (modified w/plenum and chipped) @ Sebring. 991 pads are stock and tires are MPSS. I have run with the GTS at Sebring and I think this car is slightly faster with SPASM and PDCC thru the corners and equal straight line. 997.2 GT3s will gradually pull away from me on the rear straight.

Great post. The purists tend to polarize the rest.

It's been what, 14 years, since the last revolution? No doubt many will resist the new tech. But its brilliance will come out.

The big issue is whether all the new tech proves durable. But I believe pag has gotten this one right.

let's just say the subject spyder driver is a newbie, but fking fast one.
the FASTEST non pro street full interior 996gt3 on moton and khumo 710 in which i witnessed (not just some bench racing lap time) was 1:58:xx. that's really hauling ***.

unless i get my ***** back this weekend, i am afraid, i would have to point him by in my RS. perhaps it's time to strip the RS to keep up.

AFAIK, 996flt6, speedoflight, chasen, none of us have been sub 2 for a long time.....

Mooty, I did as well, but the wire was to a Cyprus account and now, well, he wants me to cover the missing 60 %.

I can see some bank officials getting run over by Lada's soon, but that does not get me my 6 bucks back...

He probably had PDK and slicks. I'm getting a TTT-S PDK with the entire P alphabet and slicks and CF body to bully every GT3 ever made.

You are correct. PDK. Not Hoosiers, but close. Hankook Ventus Z214 C51 DOT approved R-comp tire.

Talk all you want about alphabet this and that, but his car only makes 320HP. It's a boxster. Somehow it's now an 'unfair advantage' over a GT3 because it ha PDK? BS. It's not in the same league as any 911, whether GT3, Turbo, Carrera. Let's not downplay the driver's skill here by writing his time off to 'tech doodads'. The only reason I brought up how fast he is, was to point out that the car has been driven HARD and to your standards of track use, plus some. This was in order to point out that the 9A1 engine durability for hardcore DE is is legit.

doesnt matter what kind of tech it has or doesn't, that's hauling azz.

core issue with gt3s: the 911 platform can be tough to drive fast. especially the 996 gt3.
