For some reason the text I wrote didn’t show up in the post …. Let’s try again …

Hi fellow RL’s. My 2015 991.1 GT3 with a replacement G6 engine (from 2019) and 25k miles has developed a small leak between the engine and PDk casing at the bottom. Hopefully the attached picture and video will show the issue clearly.
I noticed the leak last week after an HPDE track day. No prior issues over the last 6-7 HPDE events in the last 12 months of my ownership.
The leaking oil does not feel like PDk fluid both in consistency and smell so I’m guessing it’s engine oil. I have changed the oil 3 times over the last 12 months and also changed the PDk filter/pan 4 months ago.
no error codes or CEL, no smoke coming out of the pipes and all temps are in normal range. Car runs great and no misfires.
This could be an RMS leak based on some posts I’ve read but haven’t seen much about it happening on G6 engines.
thank you in advance for your help!

Thx for responding Cay_Pi. Were there error codes shown by an obd reader or piwis that led to the diagnosis or did they have to pull the PDk apart to figure it out?

Probably PDK. Mine leaked, was a slick fluid with really no odor and looks nothing like engine oil. That also does not look like engine oil. Same as Cay_PI my PDK went to heaven and was out of warranty...not a cheap replacement. When the car was up on a lift you could see where the leak was around the transmission.

PCA had a webinar presented by Atlanta Speedwerks on PDK repair which they claim to do a lot of on both street and racing Porsches. I am not affiliated with them in any way, but I was impressed with the webinar. It's possible that repair of the PDK rather than replacement is an option if out of warranty.

Could it have been repaired, maybe. But no one near me that I am aware of would be able to repair it and the dealers don't repair it. I don't have the capability to remove it at home and leave the car in the garage with no transmission. So if I took it somewhere I would have to pay to keep the car there while the transmission is out for repair. I would have to pay to ship the transmission not knowing what would be found when it was opened up. Not an easy decision to make. Wish Porsche let the dealers actually fix things vs. replace, theoretically it would have been cheaper...
Somewhat concerning seeing more PDK issues popping up. I'd like to not have an issue in the next PDK Porsche I own.

Here's a link to the PCA Tactics Live session with Atlanta Speedwerks about PDKs. There were some audio problems but I thought it might be of interest here.

If its just a saeling ring, they may replace it. If its something inside the PDK (any malfunction or oil coming out somewhere) they will not open or repair it. Porsche just replaces. But sure, you could bring it somewhere else to repair the gearbox.
