I should have been more precise ;-) I figured "while I'm in there" I should pickup parts for a full *drivetrain* refresh. The stock Ultegra suited me well for the last 8 years, but the last few years it's not been as buttery smooth as I would like, and I couldn't get it adjusted properly as time has worn on. Have been debating wireless, but I don't know anyone personally that has gone that way.

Cheers!

Unless you want to the looks of Super Record, DA is superior to all others.
I enjoy using SRAM, Campy and Shimano, but there is a clear cut difference on Dura-Ace.
I will say, a well dialed Campy SR12 mechanical or DA Mechanical is akin to driving a manual and works just as well as any electronic system. Is more satisfying. Where as with the electronic you could do just about anything and not miss a shift or make a mistake.

My 795 RS came with R9200 DA and I was in need of a Power Meter but didn't want to ball out and get the SRM or THM (gotta pinch somewhere if I want to swap my GTS for a GT3). I was never a huge fan of powered pedals either like the Faveros. The Shimano offered PM is wonky and I didn't want to send mine in to get modified like the 4iii. There is a high end shop (rhino workshop) that has been replacing the heavy non Powered DA cranks with Sram Red + Quarq PM Spider + Stock DA Chainrings or Carbon-Ti Rings with much success. He even sands down the sram/red and clears it so it just looks like a snazzy carbon crank.

Anyways - usually I am not a fan of mixing sram+shimano but in this case I copied him since it accomplished two upgrades at once. Added a Powermeter and Dropped substantial crank weight while the shifting quality remained unchanged since kept DA rings. Kind of the best of both worlds and no one is the wiser as it just looks like a blank carbon crank.

When I get back from the office I can post a pic of the setup - truly happy with how it turned out.

Campy SR mechanical up to 10 years ago are great I had those
campy SR EPS1 is major fk up
EPS2 dialed is good
current one changed shifting no more thumb button... so it's Italian ultegra.

SRAM
logically best design best tech.
current version big improvement. it's good, but DA is just better.
GT3 is fine, RS is just better
track or street. you can argue and try to convince yourself anyway you like
RS is an RS
GT3 is never going to be an RS

u do look like that on bike

yes you can use whatever crank and PM, the key is DA rings.

the Current PM used on DA Di2 is fine.
it shows same number as my Quarq and SRM

You do want the DA chain rings as mooty said as its much better shifting on 12 speed than praxis, etc.

Gold Standard = SRM
Close 2nd and never failed me = Quarq
Pedal based = Garmin RS200 dual sided. Alot of interesting useless knowledge when paired with garmin.
DA Rings = Gold Standard
CarbonTi newer generation = close 2nd

The original CarbonTi:

I am testing carbon ti rings.
they are not bad, the latest, but when I destroy them, I will be back to DA rings, with SRM PM and THM cranks.

I always ran DA rings but thought I needed to give carbon ti a fair shake.
