Default 991.1 GT3s That HAVEN’T Imploded

We’ve heard about all the ones that have had issues with the FF issues. How many out there haven’t? I’ve read everywhere that it isn’t a matter of if but when. So let’s hear from you, your mileage and track vs non track usage.

I’ve got 13.5k mostly track mileage and have not had any issues yet.

2015 here with ~33k miles, original engine. Bought the car at 23K. Mostly street driving with two track days but considering I’m actively trying to kill the engine, I’d say my street miles are just as hard on the engine as the track miles. Car currently eats a crazy amount of oil but otherwise drives flawlessly.

They’re not.

Think about throttle steering through a sweeper where you have to hold sustained high revs through the exit and you pass that turn 40 times throughout the weekend.

Street driving consisting of the occasional redline, shift maybe redline later isn’t giving it the lubrication starvation it needs to get the job done

2014 -original motor verified by a VMI my SA ran for me before I bought it .

54+ K miles on the motor it was born with , no leaks, no ticking at idle, no smoke at cold start and before I put it away for the Winter I made sure it saw 9K a few times . I've driven a handful of 991.1 GT3's from one with 2100 miles to one with 103K miles and regardless of miles, they all pull the same which to me is why I continue, after 35yrs , to be brand loyal to Porsche.

It has been serviced all its life by Porsche dealers, based on Carfax and VMI, so that means it has survived on approved Mobil1 Euro 5/40 but probably not even full euro spec. I like to think it's a Wednesday car : ).

Willing to bet you do in-fact have internal 'issues' that you simply cannot see until they tear it down after triggering that golden CeL.
Drive it like ya stole it, and soon you shall have a brand new G6 motor!

Totally depends on usage and track experience. I wish I could say that is true of when I'm on track, but my street usage is a likely a lot harder on the engine. I'm a newbie at the track and I'm simply not good enough to stress out the engine much, nor am I pulling any sort of high G's around the track. Meanwhile on the street, my car sits at 6K rpm or higher and I'm banging it off the limiter

11/13 build date, motor replaced within the first 700 miles after delivery by POA to a F as part of stop sale.
Got it with 3k miles in April of 2022, now at 6k miles. Only smoke on re-start after a drive has occurred 2 times, and twice after sitting for over a week. No oil consumption, no performance issues, and is in line with how my 2 other friends 991.1's behave with the "occasional" puff on re-start.

Personally not worried as it's under CPO for another 2.5yrs, and the local dealership goes above and beyond to take care of GT owners.

Similar to ^, weren’t all 2014 eninges replaced either pre or post delivery.

I've been actually trying to figure out about late 2014 builds like mine.
Mine is a clean Title...so not a buy back one .
As a nerd I'd like to know for sure, but the engine sticker indicates it as an E so perhaps mine was replaced at the port of San Diego as this GT3 was ordered by Beverly Hills Porsche.

Maybe some day a video will pop up on YouTube of a PNA tech yanking a motor out of a freshly unloaded GT3 and replacing it at one of the dock facilities with a wooden crate in the background. ; )
