The Follower Thread for 991.1 still with Original Motor
Chime in here if your 991.1 is still powered by it's original motor and how many miles of smiles have you logged up ?
My car an early 15 build ....still with the "F" motor, now north of 50k miles on the O , clean oil samples on 12 changes , had to recently replace the PDK due to leaky main seal, rarely drive in auto mode.

Three Wheelin'
Still original motor with almost 37K miles. Took delivery in November of 2014. No major replacements yet, hoping it stays that way unless I can win the new engine lottery and start all over again.

Luckily I was still under CPO when it happened. Since then I've purchased a 5y/60k ext warranty policy to extend my coverage past the CPO. At this point, I'm just waiting to see whether the engine is going to pop. Currently at 25k miles with original F.

You are at the 'sweet spot' mileage-wise, and still have significant warranty remaining.
Willing to bet you have wear on the internals, but Porsche will not recognize until you throw that golden CeL.
I can send you pics of what my internals looked like at 24K miles, and warning as the images are graphic and disturbing, ha!

Not to be a drag or bummer but what's the plan for people on original motor after 2024 when the 10 yr warranty expires? Seems like there has to be more than a few of these cars circulating that Porsche should be aware of...

1. try and purchase an extended warranty which will cover past the porsche engine warranty. This would cost 5-10k based on duration
2. nearing expiration of warranty, have the local p dealer scope the follow fingers. This likely requires an engine out service. If theres scoring, warranty the engine. This would cost 2-3k but would be safe insurance.
3. do nothing and wait for aftermarket solutions to start showing up after warranty expiry. Expect multiple shops to have solutions, ie Dundon. They're waiting for warranty to expire before launching. These solutions won't be cheap because it'll require engine out, top end rebuild, but they'll solve the issue, similar to IMS on 997's.
I chose #1 to extend warranty due to the milage I put on the car and the anticipated duration I'll likely keep the car.
