Woke up to a dead battery in my GT3 Touring. What kind of battery maintainer do you have / would you suggest?
Thanks,
Thanks,

How long was it sitting? Could be a problem.
I use CTEK maintainer on my small lithium battery. Even if not plugged in for a month my GT3 starts up fine.

Thanks for the responses. It's never been on a maintainer. I typically drive it once or twice a week and it's always been great. Due to some travel and just an overall busy schedule, I was only able to drive it a couple of times over the past couple months. I noticed the car having trouble starting after sitting for two weeks. This most recent time it sat for about 2.5 weeks.

Yeah, these cars have a tendancy to do that. My personal rule is 2 weeks or more and I put it on a charger. Here's the one I use, half price without the Porsche logo...
If you have the lithium lightweight battery use this charger: I use this one on my Antigravity battery for my Cayman.

Have been using the Fritec Professional charger Vario 2.0 12 V and their battery box every winter:

You charge the battery box with the charger, then put the box in the car and simply connect it to the cigarette lighter outlet in the passenger foot area.
I connect the box for about 3-4 times during the winter season (usually nd of November - middle of March) which keeps the battery happy.
You don't need the battery box, if you don't mind running cables in or out of your car.
I like the battery box because my car is a) not near a power outlet and b) I don't want to keep the hood or doors/windows open.

+1 to the CTEK chargers. I've been using them on all my cars for years and they work great. The Porsche charger is just a rebranded CTEK one with less features and double the price, so need to get that one unless you really want the Porsche branding on it.

The 991’s it’s easy just plug in the cigarette lighter socket. 992’s think they have to fo into the trunk directly to the battery. You will be amazed how low your battery is not driving daily, and the maintainer will keep you at 100% minus in life you’ve lost already.
