IF your battery is dead dead and you can't open the frunk, then you gotta do this: https://youtu.be/7u7vzI8vMPMThe actual steps of how to jump start can be found be in your manual, you really can't do anything wrong there, when you just follow the manual.
You also don't need any tools, just two jump start cables and a donating and running second car.
The 991’s it’s easy just plug in the cigarette lighter socket. 992’s think they have to fo into the trunk directly to the battery. You will be amazed how low your battery is not driving daily, and the maintainer will keep you at 100% minus in life you’ve lost already.
without the smokers package, where does the tender connect? Any options besides the battery terminals?
If a battery goes dead and cannot open the frunk, does plugging in a Porsche/CTEK battery tender into the cigarette lighter lead to the battery charging enough, or does the car/charger not allow charging once the battery goes dead? Fortunately never had to find out myself.
I use my Porsche Charge-o-mat....no longer available except on eBay........I cycle the car, plug into ashtray outlet and charge with door locked...red light on for charging, off when charged.....
I believe the socket in the passenger foot area works and does not get shut off over time, but personally I just have the CTEK pigtail hardwired directly to the battery in front. I just leave the pigtail above the plastic cover for easy access. It is easier for me to plug into the pigtail and leave the hood slightly open, rather than having to crawl in the passenger foot area and then leave a window ajar to run the cable. In addition, with hardwiring to the battery you do not need to ever worry about it being disconnected electronically like when plugged into the cigarette socket.

I’ve done this for years in the lighter and never lost power, and if you want to close the window the door will close and not pinch the cord if you move it far forward near the hinge. I haven’t closed my top in two years so pretty easy.
If you leave the hood slightly open the light might stay on under the hood.
I checked and the light does not stay on. I even opened the hood fully and the light remained off. I believe the light in the frunk will automatically turn off after a certain amount of time even if you leave the hood wide open (and ignition off).
Not sure how true this is, but in the same topic:
My Porsche mechanic mentioned to me to always lock the car when parked, even in the garage. He said if you don't, the car will 'wake up' every once in a while to check systems and that will eventually lead to battery drain. Locking it makes it shut off completely until unlocked. Again, not sure how true that is.
